Does anybody know if Bob Finless or any other "techies" did the video on the complete radio seting-up for the 6102 (2610 in the UK). I'm new to this and to see all the settings as they have been done by anyone who Fly's 3D would be fantastic. It would take a hell of a long time to go through all the posts on tips etc.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
Many thanks to Bob for the T-Rex 450/600 Vids. Excellent tools.
many thanks in advance

I don't have much experience with the 2610, but the DX6 is a JR platform so you might find the concepts and terminology used in this guide helps you with your Tx:
http://www.digimemphoto.com/guides/backguide.htm
Hope it is at least some help with JR terminology instead of Futaba. A few hints on converting Futaba language to JR language:
Futaba <-> JR

ATV (Adjustable Travel Volume) <-> Travel Adjust
Negative expo (reduce stick sensitivity) <-> positive expo

I have a jr 7202, this replaced my optic6. I have mine all setup and flies my bird fine. Do you need something specific or just all setup info.

Hi,
Many thanks for the reply. My 450SE was set up by a friend who I have not seen in months. I have copied all my own settings down to paper (in case of accident), but going through the 450SE build by Finless Bob mine is totally different. What I wanted to see was what Switches have been assigned too and what pitch and throttle cuves are used (I know this is by preference).
I have been learning to fly on my own now for about 3 months on and off . I'm confident at hovering, FF, side in's etc. Doing a lot of practicing on the Reflex Sim. I have now started to wonder about progressing fwd and this is where my knowledge lacks and my radio setup. What I would like to know is what settings (and what switches you have asssigned and what they do). These will then go into my radio so I can experiment on the sim/T-Rex450SE (when happy) and find a setting thats good for me. I know what I ask is quite alot but any help as I said is very appreciated.
Hope this is not too much too ask, and thank you for your time.

Most common switch assignments are:
Top right shoulder toggle = throttle hold. Forward is ON (throttle forced to 0% regardless of stick position), back is OFF.
Top left shoulder toggle = Flight mode. Back is Normal. Forward is Stunt (aka IdleUp)
Front right outer toggle (labelled Aileron D/R) = Gyro gain. Configure this switch to control the GEAR channel. Position 0 = +X% for HH, 1 = -Y% for Rate mode.
Front left outer toggle (labelled Elevator D/R) = Combined cyclic D/R and Expo. This makes it easy to have two sensitivity setups on your cyclic which you can toggle between with the one switch. For example you might have D/R=65% and Expo=30% in position 0 for a very soft cyclic then D/R=100% and Expo=5% in position 1 for full response cyclic.
Hope that is some help.

Thanks for the this. I have just put in the Throttle and Pitch curves from Bob's Curves 101 How to video. I now have to assign my switches and will set my switches as you have suggested.
How do I do - Front left outer toggle (labelled Elevator D/R) = Combined cyclic D/R and Expo. .
Think I have sussed it.
thanks again

BTW - Until you try it you won't know what feels comfortable. It occurs to me that left/right handedness may mean swapping the roles of either or both pairs toggle switches left/right might be more comfortable.
You typically will never need to change the gyro between HH and rate mode in flight so this can go on the least comfortable switch. Changing D/R+expo is the next least-frequently used in flight and over time I imagine you'll refine down to a single set of values anyway. Changing flight mode (Normal/IdleUp) is an every flight thing for most folk (although I have seen some people that just use IdleUp all the time). Fastest possible access to Throttle hold is critical so this should be in the most comfortable spot for you.

whenever I set up a 2610 for anyone, I assign rates/expo to the flight mode switch, to have low rate in normal mode , high rate in idle up mode.. It's one less switch to flick when you start thrashing the air into submission..............

Kgfly,
Could I just ask what have you got set for the throttle and pitch curves in normal/stunt mode (also Pitch Hold). I have got presently set,
Throttle - Normal
0, 50, 80 90 100
Throttle - Stunt
100, 95, 90, 95, 100
Pitch - Normal
40, 45, 50,75, 100
Pitch - Stunt
0, 25, 50, 75, 100
Pitch - Hold
0, INH, 50, INH, 100
Switches are assigtned -
Left top - Flight Mode (idle up),
Left face - Elev D/R is Gear
Right top - Throttle Hold
Right face - Aileron D/R
Set to - Off = EXP +30% & D/R 65%
Set to - On = EXP +5% & D/R 100% (Think I may have these values the wrong way round.)
All these settings are on a spare channel which I use for the Reflex XTR Sim. I tweak these settings to see the effects they have. I forgot to mention when I first started flying I did not use any D/R and Expo. Should I start now.
thanks again

Normal Throttle: 0-85-100
Normal Pitch: 45-50-100 (-1/0/9)
Stunt Throttle: 100-85-100
Stunt Pitch: 0-50-100
Hold Pitch: 0-50-100
Left face - Gear (Gyro gain)
Right face - A+E D/R
* Off = 5% expo + 100% D/R
* On = 15% expo + 100% D/R
What expo and D/R settings you fly with is very subjective. On my setup I have found that 5% expo + 65% D/R makes for smooth hover control but too slow a cyclic response to recover from trouble (I'm just a learner pilot hovering and mild FF).
On Reflex I was flying with 15%expo+65%d/r for really smooth circuits using the Bob Finless TRex model. That model flies like it's on rails. I don't know if Bob's Trex really flies like that, but it's *much* easier to fly than my real TRex.
I would say that in real life you should start with a set of values (eg 10%expo+100%d/r), hover/fly for 2minutes, then land, change just one setting and try it out to see if you like it better or not.

Do you have the link for the Bob Finless TRex model for reflex XTR.
Doing a search and comming up blank.
thanks for your settings. Just figuring out the in betweens for your 3 point, to relate for mine.
