View Full Version : GV-1 not switching modes

O.K. before I rip this thing out of the helicopter is there anything I could be missing that would stop the GV-1 from switching modes (S1, S2, S3)

The kicker is I have (2) GV-1's (one in the Predator and one in the Raptor). I put the helicopters side by side and turned them both on (at the same time). Went though every menu and made sure they were exactly the same. Yet, when I switched to idle ups only one of the helicopters respond correctly. The other stays locked on S2.

I am open to ideas.

I would make sure that the plug that goes into the Aux channel on the receiver is engaged well.

By turning both receivers on at the same time. I am guessing you mean you use the same model program in the TX to control them?
Also make sure that the plugs from the GV1 are plugged into the proper channel. Are the on/off lead and the speed control lead plugged into the same channels on the radio.
I have seen those two leads plugged into different channels before.
On/Off leads on each GV1 plugged into Ch 7?
Aux lead that changes speed plugged into Ch 8?

Yes, there was no binding or whining so I felt safe testing them both at the same time on the same model. I will go though the wiring again this evening.

Did it work then stop working or have you not gotten it to work with a new model?

What transmitter?

I had this problem before and it turned out that I had forgot to set my throttle curve in idle-up. I suppose it wouldn't engage since the throttle setting was to low.

Aux and on/off for the GV-1 are plugged into the wrong channels as David said. Been there and done that two weeks ago!

easy just unplug the speed setting channel and use the governor itself

No reason in using the GV1 if just going to use one speed. At least if you have the receiver and transmitter that will allow the full use of the GV1. 3 different speed settings.

OK I got that all fixed but now the throttle hold is not working when the GV-1 has a hold of it. i.e. it works only out of idle-up since the GV-1 is slaved to the idle-up switch.

This stuff makes me crazy :arggg:

We need a good GV-1 setup video. I will be glad to film!!!

Well it works on my Rappy... the radio settings are the same. Not too sure what I am doing wrong.
