Hello All,

I am currently flying my TREX SE with a JR X388S and a Futaba 401 Gyro, but I'm not able to figure out how to setup multiple Gyro gains on this radio so I can have AVCS mode and Rate mode. I'm currently using Aux 2 (Rudder D/R) but the only values supplied on the Travel Adjustment menu are +0 to +100 in the "0" position, and -0 to -100 in the "1" position. I have set the "0" position of the Aux 2 switch to +60% gain (AVCS mode on the 401). and the bird flies great. My problem is with flippling to switch "1" position. The only travel adjustment value possible is a negative value -0 to -100% which places the 401 into an improperly setup "Rate Mode".

Does anyone know of a method to change the Aux 2 Switch position values from negative to positive values (The other switches follow the same pattern except for the Flight Mode switch which has 2 positive travel adjustments and 1 negative)? Any other ideas?

Thanks....

I'm not sure what you're asking but the X-388S isn't capable of running a 401 with multiple gains in either mode. You can only setup one gain setting for AVCS and one gain setting for Rate.

Your " improperly set up rate mode " is because the mechanical linkage is wrong ...
Set the radio in "rate mode " , adjust servo arm to be at 90 deg , adjust pushrod length till tail arm is as per the book , hover it in rate mode , adjust pushrod length until it doesnt yaw , switch off and restart in HH mode , I bet the tail feels heaps better .... because the gyro now doesnt have to account for the mechanical offset ... usual gain numbers , which vary with different servos , are around 70 ,hh mode and 30 , rate mode ..
