Thank you guys very much for joing and offering to help support the Gasser and other Forums!!!
THe coolest part is they represent Bergen (obviously), Century and MA. Super nice to see your guys working together for the good of the hobby. Now that IS class. :)
We are truly honored to have all of you guys!!!!!!! Thank you for offering your expert help and advice.

I will and I know all of us will try our best to help out in every way we can. If I don't have an answer, I will try to get one for you. All of the above mentioned gasser guys (and others for sure like Tom Fiddler) have a great interest in making the gas birds go! Not only in performance, but also as a solid addition to our hobby.
I am learning all of the time as well and this is a real exciting time for the gas machines! So watch out for the all out gas invasion coming to a field near you!!
But remember! These things can't 3-D worth a damn!     :P :P

hey , well Im sure glad that the reps can speak up without getting banned . I would like to ask a question , but a little story before the question , I been fly helis for 4 years , my first heli was a shuttle zx and half, I was learning on my on and did quite abit of hopping with this scary machine , loud, a screamer , flew airplanes for 10 years before this , but nothing like it , couldnt think what to do , didnt have a clue , so I bought a electric EP concept , just because it was less scary , and been into electrics ever since , a month ago I bought a gaser 99 xcell, it needs the radio gear put in and thats it , but since Im kinda new to the gaser side of thing , need to know a few things , what kind of mixture do I use ? oil ? white gas ? or just plane gas ? do you tune the rpms like a glow engine ?
thanks
Tony

The gas Zenoah motors run between 10,000 and 13,000 RPM normally. This is dependant on the motor as the G23/G26 will run a bit more to the lower side, and the G-231 and RC-230 will run nearer the upper end.
You can use either gasoline or Naptha based fuels. The Coleman and Ozark fuels are Naptha based and are used primarily because of the smell of gasoline. A gasoline powered helicopter is not generally tolerated in the house!
The Naptha fuel gives just at the same power and performance as gasoline and runs much cleaner too. The oil mix ratio is dictated by the oil you choose to use, and like glow powered machines, make sure to be consistent with the fuel mix you use. I run Coleman/Ozark fuel with 64:1 mix ratio with Amsoil oil. If you use another brand of oil, do not use a 64:1 ratio or higher gas/oil ratio.
Lawn Boy Ashless (petroleum based) oil is excellent for break in at a ratio of 32/42 to 1. Klotz oil (gasoline formulation) is a very good oil also at 40:1 ratio. Many other synthetic oils are also good to use as well as Pennzoil oil which is Chris Bergen's choice. Just make sure not to use any two cycle oil formulated for water cooled two cycles (outboard oil). This oil is designed for closer tolerance motors than what we use that are water cooled and therefore tend to run cooler.
The needles and running characteristics of gasoline and Naptha fuel is the same or nearly so, so you should not see a big difference in the two as far as performance.
The needles of the gas motor are a little bit more fine or finicky than a glow motor. This is because gasoline has a much narrower "window" for combustion ratio than methanol. This makes the lean to rich adjustment much wider for glow than gas. Other than that, the needles will set pretty much the same. The gas low needle controls the carb through hover and into a transition near wide open throttle where the high needle commands the mixture.
Hope this helps!!!

Hey , John , thanks a bunch , I cant wait to fire it up . other than that will the 231 be a great upgrade for this bird? power wise ?

Currently, the G-231 is the best motor for the gas machine and the most user friendly. It is a big power increase from the G-23.
Let me know how goes it!
