So....from what I see posted on this thread, I can install a synthesed module in my TX, swap out the crystal in my RX and It will be cool with the FCC?

If we're not supposed to do frequency changes then why do the manufactures make radios with removable crystals? Here I go again, stirring the pot

Yes, read the thread again, other markets allow TX Xtal swapping

Module swapping is legal, all of the tunable components that determine the final output are within the module.
PLL tuning is legal
Changing the crystal in the module would be illegal.
The FCC doesn't care what you do with your receiver.

I will buy a new module/cyrstal for my TX and a new crystal for my RX. Happy flying and no figure 9's

And I would seriously look at buying the synthesized module to avoid this problem in the future.

What are you guy's talking about when you say synthesised module?
About 6 years ago, when I was flying in the states, we used to swap channels in our radios all the time. When did they start banning it?

A "synthesised module" is a plugin Tx module with a digitally synthesised transmitter that allows you to select amongst any of the channels in the module's band. You no longer have to change crystals to change channels. When combined with a synthesised Rx you have a system that lets you select any unused channel to fly your model.

But for that $200 you never have to wait for a frequency.

And where does it end, if you haven't figured out IT DOESN'T END, you may still believe in Santa Claus. :)
