losing settings on spektrum DX6

I’m having problems saving new models without losing the
Setting for my old one on my spectrum DX6
I called horizon and they walked me thru it and it worked fine
Hang up the phone try again and lose all the settings for my trex
Must be a old fart with a brain fart
If some one could explain more clearly than the manual I would appreciate it

To create a new model:

1) Hold lower two buttons UP then turn on power
2) Click <scroll> (ie press the scroll/channel button up) until you get to the MDL menu
3) Click <increase> to select the desired model number
4) <scroll> twice to the TYP menu and <increase> to select HE (heli) or AC (plane)
5) Power off

Next time you turn on you will be using the new model. Now you can go through and program it. If you want to change switch assignments or the model label, do that between (4) and (5).
