Its easy to determine where yours should go, remember you are moving the battery forward or back to balance the CG.

I too had to relieve some frame for battery slide back clearance. And then have it 3/4" hanging out the nose for CG. And still -I think this bird is tail biased heavy a tad. 100 Ice and ProBec aft and the giant Quark forward on the forward tray. Not a fair trade. Aft heli CG-- nowhere near as important as a real airplane, or a model I suppose.

I had to dremel away some of the frames, instead of them slanting down I just cut them straight back. Battery sticks out about 1 inch. I run a 2s 1800 pack up front for the reciever, my esc is back by the motor

Heli CG is actually quite important when you arew doing more advanced moves.. Having everything balanced makes life easier when flying!

I understand CG is important-- but aft in an airplane is about deadly, from stall/spin recovery is all I meant.
I guess the bat can sit out front until the canopy won't go on? Just don't lawn dart. I'd hate to add lead. I could do carbon tail blades instead of bright orange heavys I suppose.

My carsh.. I lawn darted SO hard there was so much dirst packed into that whole in that bottom canopy hole I couldn't remove the canopy... I used pliers to grab hunks of grass.
Battery was deformed slightly.. but fine!
I mean.. if I was TRYING to taco the lipo.. I would have done the exact same crash...

Also depends on the battery. Several are using the Turnigy 30C 6S5000. For that, about 1/2" like other say. Also depends on the canopy. My particular Canomod seems a bit heavy compared to the stock lid, so naturally, the battery rides a touch further back with it compared to stock. Not much hanging over the front with it...maybe 1/4". I have the CC Pro BEC riding on the side opposite the ESC below the motor.
