Hi Futura.. yeah... its a great heli. If I could, I'd fly it everyday after work.
My trip to North Borneo was to go back to my folks. My 72 year old dad likes it too. Too bad I couldn't hand him the transmitter.
Here's the (only) twp pics I got of flying in the field back home. Borneo is a weird place. The air is still throughout the day. Even when its raining. Hot and humid. Great for flying helis though.
:D

Hi Borneobear
First of all, thanks for a fascinating thread. Been reading it for a while, finally acquired a heli to try it on.
Got myself a second hand Shogun V2 belt tail. Basically the same as the Zoom you used, but motor is at the rear, not the front.
What I have done is used your ideas, but set the swash with the single ball at the front. Side servos link to rear balls, and front is driven by servo on its side on front frames.
Will publish pictures as soon as I get my camera back.
Works fine, just putting finishing touches now.
Only one thing puzzles me, on your conversion and mine. On the original set up, the swash is fixed in height, as is the head, so the mixer block needs to slide up and down to provide the mixing function. On the conversion, the swash also moves up and down, so do I need to fix the mixing block in order for the mixing function to work?
Probably a simple answer, but I cant get my head round it.
Can you help?
Cheers
Jeff
