Bob;
Mybe you can help me. I just posted this on another forum, but I see you're online and building a Logo.
I am finishing the build on a Logo 10CF, and am having trouble with the washout arms.
At 0 degree pitch, the servos are all level at 90 degree, but the washout arms are way out. To level them out, the servos have to be at max throw (10 degree positive pitch). I have all the linkages exactly the correct measurements, and followed the directions to the letter. The swash AFR is set at AIL +50%, ELE -50%, PIT -60% which gives me -10 to +10 degree of pitch.
I've looked at the diagrams for hours...I can't see any mistakes, but it just doesn't look right. Every other photo I've seen, the washout arms are just about level. What am I missing?

the manual is designed around the JR servos, 3421s'. Also to note the measurements in the Mikado manuals are never on, you have to do as you would on a scratch of any heli, from the ground up make your bottom mixers 90 at zero pitch and work your way up. You can run 12 degrees of pitch +/- as well as 6.5 to 7 on a L10 without binding as well with no issues so you know. Your afrs should be all the same if you can.

For Will's logo 14 using S9650 servos the links in the head were right on per the manual. The links from the servos to the swash were way off from the manual. I had to lengthen them a bunch to move the swash up so the washout mixer arms were level at center stick AND the flybar mixer arms were level and gips at zero pitch.

in the 10 manual it is based around the jr servos, it screws alot of people up. But as Bob said for the 14 it is pretty darn close, except for yes the ones to swash. I should have clarified that. :wink: amd your just going to have to burn the noodle abit it, will come clear to you once you work bottom up. :)

Thanks for the help!!
Bob, what are 'gips'?
Shawn, when you say all afrs should be the same....do you mean the absolute values or pos/neg as well? In fact what are your afrs? I have a futaba 9c, but the servos are Hitec.

Are all your afr values pos or neg....any servos reversed (other than the usual throttle on Futaba)?
I'm not sure how I got to my present combo of mixed +/-, but the servos move together correctly.
I think this will help me in understanding how to set these things up!!

Here are my settings and sorry I miss quoted.
Aileron AFR = -65
Elevator AFR = +65
Pitch = +70
Pitch servo is reversed.
My pitch servo is on the right side of the heli and aileron/elevator servos are on the left.
Now remember I am not done setting up and thus have not measured full pitch with 70 afr so this maybe to much but it looked about right by eye.

You're a good man to spend all this time and effort helping the 'needy'. I think I can fix this baby up now.
If you ever need any free urologic advice, (and I hope you don't!!), don't hesitate to contact me.

GOD I hope I dont but I am approaching 50 now and HATE doctors....
How about a self test for the prostate! There must be a way to do this yourself?

Only if you are very flexible and have long fingers!!!
Seriously, you should have a yearly physical exam....it's called preventative medicine. I ask patients if they get their cars' oiled changed regularly, or do they wait for it to break down before they bring it in for servicing.
At 50 you should have screening for colon cancer (colonoscopy), and prostate cancer ("a finger wave") and PSA (blood test). This way you can continue to fly for a long time.
And...you wouldn't hate me if you got to know me!!!!
