Pepper,
Or anyone,

I read on another forum that someone bought the carbon torque tube upgrade for the Hawk and was shipped an aluminum one. What he indicated was that Century wasn't shipping the carbon one because of failures and a pending lawsuit. (Yikes!) True?

Does anybody know more about this upgrade part and if it will be available again after a re-design? The aluminum replacement... Can that be any good?

i haven't heard anything about a lawsuit. the hawk doesn't produce enouf power in the tail to produce failure in the tail. i think that it is simpley a replacement for the wire drive. i know of people who have taken a carbon rod and converted from a wire drive..

The CN0520BS is the part I'm referring to.

I had the wire break on me in flight. So that's why I was looking at an upgrade.

there should be an upgrade it will be SSteel TTube. just like the pred. if i'm not mistaken. I think they have done away with the carbon TT drives.

Bighandsd is right, they changed from carbon to stainless steel. Same as Pred just shorter, bearings and all. They work very well in the hawk, really well if you are using 401 or better gyro, as the wire would windup alot with 401.
