I watched the video that Slyster sent us to and it was really helpful but one thing I don't understand and Clint didn't really explain is what do I set my throttle curve for. I'm using a 12T Pinion and setting for 1900, 2000 and 2100. What should the throttle curves in normal, idle 1 and idle 2 be set at?
Thanks,
Brian

normal = HS1 = flat at somewhere in between 0 and 50
idle1 = HS2 = flat at somewhere in between 50 and 99
idle2 = HS3 = 100
click on the blue question marks in the Castle LInk software and it will display all sorts of helpful info

In the vid he mentions using 30% 60% and 100% ( or something like that, shotty memory), these are just flat TC to tell the ESC what RPM you want, nothing more.

It doesn't matter what % you choose as long as it falls in the specified range. idle2 has to be 100% but idle1 can be anywher from 51-99 your choice and norma 1-50. It senses the range instead of an exact #.

Yup, and since i came out i still cannot for the life of me why they choose those divisions. Would have made more sense to use 0-30 30-60 60-100 or something like that. As is if you want that 3rd option you have to make sure the ESC knows the full range of the Tx.

I would set a minumum of 2200, 2300, 2400 with the 12T
I tired 2000 it was NOT happy.. and 1900 the tail was really weak and heli mushy.
Just ran those 3 up above tonight and all 3 were very nice... I think I'd run NORM (2200) for most flying.. but Idle1 is nice and Idle2 is punchy!

Sly - did you tach it yet?

No. But I do think the ICE (and data logs) are accurate now after flying 2200, 2300, and 2400 today. I have to wait for my friend to come to my field.

Thanks guys, Great explanation. I kind of thought that's what he was saying but this old mind was confused. Seems to be like that more and more. My kids love it. Gives them something to talk about and chuckle over.

Just disable govenor set for a flat 85% for starter. These motors have serious power that the govenor is more of an overhead than an advantage.
