View Full Version : Is there a true to life Helicopter Simulation for FMS?

I have been playing around for some time now with FMS and REALFLIGHT G3. Honestly, from a beginners perspective I find them both similar with G3 having much better graphics. So IMHO G3 is not worth the $199 premium, it is going back to it's maker. I use my Spektrum DX6 Transmitter with both pieces of software.

My question for those familiar with FMS is/are there a model(s) that has/have true to life simulations? I have been training with some Jet Rangers and T-Rex models that appears quite challenging. As opposed to some heli models that are so simple to fly, it is almost as if they were written that way. I am looking for recommendations for any FMS model helis that are as real to life as a simulator can get.

TIA

AFAIK, the physics behind the flight model is better in G3 and XTR, and Phoenix is even a bit better. Better physics means more true to life.

The Trex in FMS is actually rock solid then when compared to my 450xl. Part of it has to due with tuning your heli, as the simulator comes 'tuned'. I have found that the FMS download for the Rex is very accurate. Also the Imperio 3d. I downloaded the Blade CP and Piccolo models as well, and they fly as well (fickle) as the real deals. I am very impressed with the physics of the FMS, considering it is free, except for the hardware. Some of the larger helis, like the Dauphin and the cobra are not 3d, so in comparison they are much more stable and easier to fly in the sim. Also the Bell and Jet Ranger. Fly as many different models in the sim and you will find your skills improve rapidly.
