Hi Everyone

Just curious to know if the 3G 700N kits have a shorter main shaft. It seems that the mikado conversions of the helicopter appear as though they sit a bit higher.

Thanks again
Andy

Well the 3G conversion kits don't come with a replacement main shaft -you just use the stock one. If you buy one of the new 3G airframe kits my assumption is that the same applies.

The main shafts are the same as with a flybar. The new head block is shorter by almost 3/4" so the blades are a bit lower with the 3G upgrades.

flybarred mainshaft will have 2 groobes cut out at top for flybar clearance.

I for one would really like to see a 10mm lower mainshaft for the 3G kits, that is the exact (useless) gap between the swash driver and the headblock

my guess is so you can use a flybar mainshaft and not have to adjust your linkages.

They actually give you new links to use with the 3G so you have to change them anyway because they go all the way from the swash to the grips. I imagine it's so they don't have to have a different part. I would guess too that if the head is too low you start risking boom strikes.

I don't know if they used a new main shaft or not. But the new 700E 3g shows the swash driver sitting directly against the head block.

Going to see it in person in a couple of days!!

Correct, I don't see any risk in a boomstrike by lowering a further 10mm, my 600N is even lowered further with the Kasama head, so Align, if you listen, please shorten that mainshaft!
