I’m getting back into helicopters after 6 years absence. My last radio was a 10X heli so I remember everything I appreciated about it (I was shocked to learn it is still JR’s top offering). Question: What are the drawbacks about now going to the JR9303 over a 10X? I’ve read the literature but I’m looking for practical advice on actual usage issues of the 9303 vs. 10X, i.e. ease of programming.

9303 hands down. I would not go back to the 10X for any amount of money.
If you and another guy are wanting to buddy box to get you back going, a trainer cord with transfer your program to his radio (another 9303) and You both will fly the same programming, neat part: same trims, same flight modes, same name...
takes about 30-45 seconds to transfer.

I agree with Wayne go with the 9303. I don't have a 10X but have a 10SX2 and the 9303 does almost everything that the 10X does all it really losses is some free mixes, but you get programing for a governor. Plus it does it for half the price.

Yes, 9303 is the Horizon Hobby name for it in North America. The rest of the world gets the 9X2.

I was going to buy a 10x but I found out that you can only fly a heli or a airplane on the 10x, in other words if you buy the airplane version you are stuck, I have 3 giant scale planes and 1 heli so I figured the 9303 is the best option, and now I wouldn't trade it for 8 10x'ss,,,,

Ok I have a question about the 9303 (airplane) I just bought a Heli and was wondering where to get the heli set ups information? nothing in the manual about them ,but has the option for heli's , I set the tranmiter to heli and got all kinds of wierd stuff in the programs,LOL,,
Thanks

There was a card in my 9303 Heli version to get the Glider and or Airplane manuals from JR, for no cost. I should send it in.
I have also seen the manuals on eBay for sale.

There are very few things you will need the manual for after you glance at the programming anyway.
Thr radio is pretty intuitive.

Thank you Mr. Brown
This was what I was looking for
I have a pair of 9303's I use one for one group of planes and the other for my IMAC planes ,,I do understand the programs for air planes but these Heli's are a new ball game ,,
Thanks again for help

I have two as well, both share the same programming. Pretty handy to transfer a setup from one tx to another!
You will find the Fixed wing version has two switches in different locations, the trainer button, and flight mode switch are swapped. One of my radios is FW, and I removed and reinstalled the switches to match the Heli version. PITA, but do-able in 15 minutes.
JR makes a replacement tension strap for the throttle as well, one without the ratcheting feature. It's about $6 if memory serves. Don't even bother trying to manipulate the one in the radio, You'll drive yourself nuts...BTDT.

Good point but I think I will leav the switchs where they are ,I have to many fix wing planes on this radio , I have reached the point where I can do most anything with a fix wing ( oh sounds like I'm bragging but not ment that way),But was looking for a new challenge,, Boy I think I found it ,, :)
