I cut the wires on my brushless motor to lengthen them with no problem.
Some say not to because the wires are wound from inside the motor out.

Not really, the motor uses solid wire with very thin insulation. The wires coing out are stranded with thicker insulation.

Well, I did it finally with help from you guys. Thanks! More power and head speed that I had even hoped for! Makes for a completely different and outragous flying machine!! This is my arrangement with the high power wires and signal wires isolated about as far apart as I could get them and still keep them fairly short. Everything seems to be glitchless but have not done a range check as yet. This airframe goes into a scale fuselage and my other brushless set-up, yet to do, is an E-Flite inrunner and ESC for my pro. By the way, I believe shortening the motor wires voids the warranty, according to the BCPP manual. Maybe the wire length is considered part of the motor winding total or something.

Well, I'll be damned if I can find those docs. The only thing I could find was from one of the E-Flite Park 400 motors on my foamies that said cutting the motor wire could be considered an "unapproved motor modification" and could void the warranty.
I'll keep looking but with 2 planks and 1 heli under construction in here, it may be a while. :)
