A friend of mine just bought a dx6 for his Trex 450, after binding and makeing sure everything was set up proper it will glitch every once in awhile almost causing a crash. The directions show how to run the antenna wires but it's almost impossible to route them in such away with the reciever in the frames of a Trex. Any solutions or Ideas would that would be helpful. Thanks

I didn't think the DX6 would glitch. That is what I have been reading,

Thats what I was told also but it did. More than once too!

It might be helpful for you to provide details as to the helis setup. Is it an SE? What motor, speed control, etc. ?
I'm flying my 450 SE and my new 600 both on spektrum, the former for over 4 months, the latter for about 10 flights now, with no radio problems at all.
I had several crashes and near misses on the 450 that I originally attributed to the radio, but which turned out to be other issues: mainly the speed control (align 25A) cutting out (thermal overload protection) and ball links coming off of the head in mid flight.
Also I had some "glitches" that turned out to be a loose tail belt. The point is there are many things that can happen in the air that present like glitching which are not in the end...
Some things to look at anyway :)

Unlikely to be radio glitches. I run one antenna out each side in short tubes cable-tied to the side frames. One tube points up and back, the other straight back, giving about a 60deg angle between them. Less than the ideal 90deg but works fine.
Have you tried flying at another site ? Maybe there is an interference problem at that location, although this would be rare.
Is the Tx and DX6 or a converted DX6102 ? If it is converted 6102 the antenna connection (which is very fragile) may have been damaged. This greatly attenuates the Tx signal and can lead to drop outs.
If after further diagnosis you really think it is the radio, I'd send it back to Horizon for a checkup/repair.

Does it have a carbon frame?
If so, make sure the servo cables cover isnt broken somewhere, servo wire coming in contact with carbon can have that affect. (Servo stops working etc)

fwiw...
I stuff the DX antennae under the canopy and go fly...You may have a bad rx or tx, for if it's glitching at all, something's wrong with the radio...return it to Horizon, I'm sure they will make it right...
(you did do a range check with the bind button depressed...?)

Lube the belt :). Worked for me. It's a static electricity jump.

Holy crap. I never though of the van de graaf effect on belts. Any particular type of lube? And how often? With the belt in the boom, what is the best procedure for lubing?
Thanx

fwiw..
I use silicone spray lube, spray a bit into the cap of the can, dip a Q tip in the liquid, then hold it against the inside of the belt while turning the head...Repeat every two weeks or so...

Sorry. Silicone lube or WD-40 will do it

Not WD40 or anything else petroleum based as it will degrade the rubber. Non-petroleum based silicone spray is the way to go.

Annd watch, a lot of hardware store or auto parts store silicone spray lists petroleum distillates as teh main ingredient.

Hmm. Not very informative and no response to questions. Would really like to know. What kind of glitch is it? Motor cut outs? Is it always the same channel, or total loss, etc. That would be important to all interested. I have tried all kinds of RX locations even both antenna's pointed the same way parallel to each other inside a carbon frame Trex and can't make it glitch ever, or even tell the difference in a range check.
After some of the other post I have read I think I will try to get better angles between antennas though.

as an FYI, I have purchased product called TECHSPRAY, it indicates on the container that it is zero charge Anti-Stat
it is non-flamable topical coating for porous materials, belt is porous.
the web site is www.techspay.com to learn more. I bought it through McMaster Carr. I have used it on my trex, not glitching and it was not glitchinging before i sprayed it on. Just preventitive maintanence. So I'm not sure of its value.
