Anybody try a emoli 4s2p battery??? I am going to be building a Swift for
AP work only, and wondering if this might work with the 550 plus motor?? and have good lifting, maybe 3lbs max.

A good question. I have asked many times without response. I guess no one flys with 4S.

Actually there are a number of flyers that fly with a 4S battery pack. In fact Wedge there is one in Nanaimo (Randy C.) who does some pretty impressive 3D with his Swift using a 4S pack. But he uses the Evo 3700mah, 20C, 4S1P packs. He has two packs and has over 100 cycles on each! (over 200 flights in total)

But your question was re: a 4S2P "emoli" pack. That is probably why you did not get a response. As this pack would be pretty heavy - around 900 grams, while the 4S1P Evo is only aeound 440 grams! That is almost a pound difference!

If you are looking to do AP work, then I would think you would want to use a battery pack that has as much punch per pound as you can. In this case the e-moli 4S2P pack would be the WORST in that catagory.

Yes I know Randy, and seen him fly his swift. Great flyer. The 4s2p emoli would weigh 800g, and I don't need the most power for AP, but I ve decided to stay with 6s like my current swift, then I can run all my packs for both heli's.

Will,

For photo work, where you do not want "fast" cyclic, in fact you want a "smooth/damped' cyclic and stability. So I would suggest you change the stock paddles for the ones from a Hawk Pro (& try with the weights on).

Also for AP you will not need the high rotor speed. A slower rotor speed and longer blades will give a better disc loading and less power drain - more duration. So use the power of your 6 cell packs in your AP Swift for duration, not speed. Change the pinion gear to maybe an 11T or 12T pinion and try some longer blades like the Century Fiberglass 530 or even the 550's.

This should get you a very stable camera heli that can carry a good payload for a longer period of time. :D

Hey thanks, ya thats excatly my plan, I am keeping with the 6s, I am getting a 1907 1.5y and running it on a 9t pinion, that should give me 1700rpm, and I will try the 530's or 550's, and was thinking of Hawk sport paddles.

You would do quite well using the TT Greenie paddles (20 gram) or the TT Whities (25 grams) dependant upon how much stability you wanted.
