Hi everyone,

I'll be uploading the Hurrican 50 build photo's first thing in the morning. The Hurrican 50 will be at IRCHASE, stop by and look us up.

Here are the first of the build pic's, I sat here all day tracking the box from UPS, it said out for delivery at 7:05am, when the driver finally showed up at 2:50pm I didn't know wether to hug him or kick his butt for making me jump up everytime I heard a truck in the neighborhood all day long

I opened up the box and removed the canopy

The build continues, :D

Here is a pic of the split gear with the metal bearing bloack and metal tail drive gear, very nice setup

Mike Jones (3DME) of carbonfiberrcparts in Florida, carbon plate and 2 oz leakproof header tank, the kit comes with a very nice quality header tank, I wanted to show the tank with the carbon plate and where it could be located, and other options available.

I had a set of Mr. Carbon boom supports laying around and with all the carbon with this kit opted for a carbon look on the supports, the kit comes with a nice set of aluminum supports and I've heard that RJX is already working on there own carbon boom supports :glasses:

The fuel tank is one of the best I've seen, very solid has 4 molded insert pockets that rubber mounts with threaded inserts push right in to the side of the tank, then you use 3x6mm socket head screws and a star washer from outside the carbon frame, tank came with hi quality surgical tubing and clunk installed and the nipple pushes into a rubber grommet so there isn't a nut to tighten, the tank slides right in or out with out having to undue a single frame bolt, you can change tubing in minutes, but from what I've heard this tubing lasts and lasts.

I've got about 16 hours into the build, between watching the Cup race the other night and pausing to take pitures, I'd say it's about on par with other 50 class machines as far as build time, I took my time and installed plastic coil material and nylon braided loom during the same time frame and figured out where I wanted everything as this was my first 611 install. Overall I'm VERY impressed with the kit RJXHobby puts out, a quality kit and a very nice build.

I have also ordered the entire aluminum upgrade head parts, washout base, washout arms, seesaw, seesaw arms, flybar control arm and will take pictues of them after they are installed. We're going to fly it with the plastic head parts that you see above first and then upgrade and test fly with ALL THE BLING, I'm quite sure the stock head is going to be great and for all us heli nuts the bling will blind us so have your :glasses2: nearby. There is absolutely ZERO play in the stock head the way it's pictured with the plastic head parts, quite different than my expieriances with other 50 class machines.

Stay tuned, more to come with the test flights and build completion.

Test Flight

We had a chance today to take the Hurrican 50 out for a test flight, It was ROCK SOLID and snapped right up into a very stable hover, I had to adjust the gov setting going from a 8.9 to 8.7 ratio but a few minutes in the ATV AUX page took care of that. Steven and Tim flew it around and I tried to get some pic's with Steven hovering hands off, he let go and waved to me, the only problem is I haven't been checked out on the Olympus camera so I missed it

We were all pretty impressed with how smooth a heli this is, the plastic head parts are tight, zero slop and very smooth and responsive with a set of 9252's on the CCPM, for this bird I choose to put a spare 9254 tail servo on the throttle with the TJ Pro and Steven reported he was very happy with the response.

I've played hookie for the past couple of days so I need to work the rest of the week so I can afford this hobby so we won't be able to play with the Heli until the weekend and I will get some pic's of the Hurrican in the air.

I give this Heli (10) gold rotor blades,

Steven, myself, and Hotwings will have the Hurrican 50 at IRCHASE, stop by and look us up.

Hurrican 50 complete and test flown

Here are more pictures of the hurrican, we flew it yesterday with the plastic parts and it was very solid and precise, zero slop, got the 611 dialed in and tweaked the TJ Pro.

Hurrican 50 Full Metal Head  look at the quality, very nice and it flys GREAT!!!, BTW ALL the the metal head parts you see on my Hurrican 50 are a direct bolt on to a Tiger 50 and Air Skipper 50 and I'm sure they will fit other 50 size heli's as well

I'll try and get some stills of Steven flying tonight and get them posted, the kids never around when you need him, well I guess I can't complain anyone that knows Steven knows he's only 14 years old and I guess I can't take him out of school just to get some pictures :(
