Cost aside which is the better one,
I think the GV-1 is probably easier to set up as the gear ratio can be programmed but i have heard the sensors fail quite a bit, but local recommendation have been the TJ Pro.

Ideas?

I run GV-1's and as long as you keep the voltage to 5.1V sensors last a long time. Voltage much over that seems to kill off some of the newer snesors.

I have had both the TJ pro and the GV-1. I like the GV-1 better.

My favorite sofar was the original v.9 TJ, but you can't get them any more so am trying out the TJ pro now and sofar don't know if i like it as much.

I have only used the GV-1. I have (3) systems in use and not a problem to report. Setup is easy, just follow the detailed instructions in the book!

All my buddies use the GV-1 as well. I would recommend them highly.

I've only run the GV-1 on my heli. I've seen TJ/TJPro on friends helis and they seem to perform good. The GV-1 was really easy to set up and works great but it does not have 'Super Servo' support if you're looking to put a high speed digital on your throttle.

What do you like better about the GV-1? I have a GV-1 in one of my R50's now and after taking weeks to mount the problematic sensor, configure in my 9Z and learn to use properly, it runs great. Without help from a half a dozen people and hands-on help at the field, it would have taken me longer :)

I'm considering the TJ pro for my next governor but have been told it's even harder to setup than the GV-1. You have experience with both. Please throw out a couple pros/cons of each. Thanks!

I have used many GV-1's and a TJ and TJ Pro. I prefer the GV-1 for its ability to just dial in the desired RPM. Sensors for the GV-1 and TJ setup the same. The TJ's work great but using your End Points is a little trickier than just setting the desired headspeed on the display. I have also found the ATV Calculator on the MA site to be just a guideline. My actual end points were a good bit different.

The plus side of the TJ Pro is that when it engages, it is a softer engagement than the GV-1 and I really liked that. If your looking for a TJ Pro/AutoGlow PM me Dan and we can work something out.

Get the TJ, no second thoughts, exellent product, cheap, reliable, fantastic customer service, try and phone Futaba & ask some questions about the GV-1 set up & see how far you get.
Phone model avionics and you can talk to the guy who designed and built the thing, His name is paul! :D

I have had both, the GV is ok, But........When it goes wrong and ahhhh those pick-ups>>>>>>>>>>! :)

Get the new TJ pro, even better with super servo support.

TJ Pro
Cheaper
Works Better
AutoGlow option (new free software update makes it even better)
Digital servo option (Some don't think it matters, try it and see for yourself)

Only minus is unless your good at "Hearing" headspeeds, you have to tach the copter to make sure you are getting the disired headspeed.
