Hi,
I know this is not the IDEAL setup but I wanted this heli with an economical setup.
For the same amount of money, I preferred to buy it instead of a T-Rex 500 with best equippement.
Later, if it is necessary, there will always be time to replace with better components.
Cyclic servo : Spektrum DS821
Tail servo : BMS-631MG
Gyro : Telebee (to be replaced by a Quark as soon HD have in stock)
Motor : Tonic-X Z30A-1110kv
Esc : Gaui 75A (very good slow start)
Bec : Gaui 3A (5A max)
Lipo : Turnigy 5000mah/20C (stay cold after 10 mins)
Blade : 550mm PRO 3D CF Carbon Fiber
These two first flight were done with a wind of 20km.
I have only 20 minutes of flight time test but what I can say, that is I love this heli.
I have use the intermediate setting and I found that this heli is very stable and has a very precise control.
I am eager to try it again.
I put 3200mah in my Lipo after 10 mins of hovering and some fast forward flight
The battery stay cold and and the ESC is barely warm.
II am really happy to have bought this heli

3200 and 10 minutes and it was stable????
What are you flying at 900 rpm ?

My mechanical setup are like in the manual for intermediate.
My JR 9303 is setup for general flight like the manual also.
Trottle : 0,40,70,85,100
Pich : -2,,+6,,+12
I use a 13 teeth pinion motor.
I don't know my exact headspeed.

Thats a wide spread.. you could try 00-60-70-80-90.. but then again.. with 13T... I use 12T and get like 2200 RPM at around 85%

You mean that I can use this trottle curve(00-60-70-80-90) with my 13T!

Well.. what motor? 13T.. maybe dial it back.. but that's harder on the ESC.. you should go with 11T or 12T I'd say.
Maybe try 00-50-60-70-80 with 13T?

My motor is a Tonic-X Z30A-1110kv
In the product details of the Outrage 550, he advises the use 13-14 tooth pinion for 6s Lipo with this motor.
And it is for that that I use the 13T for a minimum of current draw.

ah..nm. That's different. I forgot that sorry.. I did in fact read your specs but so many use the Scorpion or Neu I wasn't thinking.
Just try 00-70-80-90-100 and see how she behaves.
Use a headspeed calculator and figure out what % to run to hover at around 2100-2200 rpm.. and you will be happy!
Here's a nice easy one from MrMel

In the headspeed calculator, there is 3 different RPM.
Example : With main gear=140, Pinion=13, motor efficiency=90
Nominal voltage: Spoolup RPM 100% throttle no governor (22,2v): 2288
Avg RPM you will see with 100% throttle and no governor: 2097
Max normal bogging applied you will see RPM at: 1833
Which one to choose? 2208,2097 or 1833

what they mean is with one battery throughout it's flight.. you will get all 3 RPM's.
That's one advantage of governor mode.. you stay at one RPM level the entire flight! But I doubt that motor (or motor pinion combo?) is up to that.
I'd just go 100% flat than... do you normally fly in idle up? Or at least something like 00-70-80-90-100
Avg RPM of 2097 is just fine for sport flying and FFF etc.

Normally I don't fly much in idle up, BUT now I fly much more in idle up. The controls seem better. I will try your trottle curve with my next flights.
Thank's for your advices.

After just a month or two (a couple years back) I never went back to norm.
I spool up in idle up and land in idle up.. (assuming you have a good soft start!)

My inexpensive Gaui 75A has an exelent slow start. I could try to spool up in idle up a few later.
Just for the info, what other ESC have a good soft start?
Do you know if the Hobbywing 100A have a good soft start?

No sure. I have used the ICE 100 from the start.

I have received an one-way bearing's replacement tuesday from HD.
I never been time to test it until today. Finally, my Outrage is again in the sky.
No more problem with the one-way locking.
Just to wait my DS650 to try with my new Quark.
For the moment, all I can do is flying and have fun.
10 minutes and I put 3100 mah from my 5000mah after my flight.
I think that this is a quite good setup for a sport flyer who want have a GOOD helicopter without give a lot of money and to have a very good flying time without sacrifying the stability.

10 minutes is amazing
yes it is a great helicopter and definately easier on the wallet for parts
