Hey Joe,

Very nice! Lots of progress there. Looks like it flies very well without any severe tendencies. I especially noticed what appears to be ample yaw authority without loss of controllability; always an issue with tandems. Looking forward to production roll-out.

Wooow Joe ,,things have really changed ,,loved the rolling take off and the suck up ...looks like plenty of power and lift ------ 3-D chinook : :glasses:

I too can hardly wait for production roll out!!! This is a gotta have bird.
Any thoughts about 3 bladed head upgrade in the future. :D :glasses2:

Way to go Joe :noteworthy

I am new to this page and I know I am a few days late to this discussion But I just can’t resist putting in my 2 cents.
Everything the other guys said is right. It's Sweeeeeet !

Does it use differential collective pitch or do the rotors tilt to go in and out of fwd flt?

Hey freightrain33,

If it's like the Hirobo tandem, it does both- fore and aft cyclic coupled with differential collective pitch. Perhaps Joe will chime in here and let us know for sure.

One of these days I'm going to experiment with differential collective only on my tandem...

Thanks for the response
To be totally honest I don't have a tandem model but it is on the short list of things to get. I did think it seamed possible with the new radios to have differential collective pitch it just sounds like a radio nightmare to program.

I'll have a million questions for you sometime soon.

It isn't hard to program ,,,Joe does it all for you in an onboard mixer unit called the TH - 2. You set your TX to default single servo swash plate type and he does the rest.It is quite simple to setup and fly. :D
And I believe Ashley is right on the pitch /cyclic on elevator ,,plus you get some yaw coupled with the pitch to make it stay straight as you change pitch on the heads to maintain level or fly forward.
I don't have the new T-rex ,,,,, YET ,,but had his first tandem and I am sure it is controlled about the same .

WOW....... A proper tandem rotor ship and stable too - thats amazing - can't wait to see it go with its clothes on :D

It will doubtless be beyond my humble means, but I can dream.......

Great work guys, great work :noteworthy

Hi Joe,

the video looks really very nice; amazing to see how fast and accurate you can maneuver the tandem. You know that I am working on a large tandem and a Flettner type helicopter, but this T-Rex tandem is very very amazing!

Hi Bernhard,

The Twinn Rexx flys great. I am very pleased with it. We have 3 test pilots now and things are progressing quite well.

The 4S power system is serious and I had to add a second drive shaft support since it was flexing too much. Just got the new laser cut parts to begin testing this.

Looks like summer 2007 for release. No exact date yet. Base kits without the rotor heads will run $250 to $275. Plastic rotor heads will run around $100 and metal heads around $300.
No electronics/electrics included.

BTW: Where are those pics of your project that you promised me ?

Put me on the want-to-buy list. Looks like a MUST HAVE item.
Keep us all up to date on the progress.
Any pics of the fuselage?
