I was the iHobbyExpo in Chicago and I decided to have a wander over to the Century Booth. I got to snap some pics of the new Swift 550/620 Carbon SE Helis. The 550 and the 620 are the same except for longer blades, boom and belt on the 620.
These featured the new main gears for the driven tail and lots of bling including a very nice new cnc alloy tail case and fiberglass canopy.

It was a very good show. I went as an exibitor for my company Schumacher, Inc. and we were slammed all four days. I got away for a few minutes on Friday afternoon to look at a few booths that I really wanted to check out.
I wanted a Swift but I wan to wait to get the 550 SE. Mainly for the driven tail. Its a little more compact than the 620 and will fly hard on 6S.

Thanks, Now I have to get more money up! The best part of my swift is the cheap to fly aspect. Now I'm sure I'll have to have a carbon and bling one too. I just can't stop and " THEY" know it. TimT

That's a prototype gearbox and they have a CNC pitch slider control horn coming to go with it. I beleive the dates for release are Feb 2007, which is why these models are only partially complete, still waiting for some bits to be upgraded.

I'm moving up from TREX's to the Swift 16 .This is going to be my new camera ship. I have set up some autos with the TREX's but always chicken out. How well will the Swift auto with another1 1/2 to 2 lbs on board? I'm thinking I'll want the driven tail to help land my investment. The only time I really tried an auto was when I had motor failure and the rotor stopped. Motor (Align) broke in half. Old model.
Should I increase tail fin area to help weathervaning? Does that mean the Swift 16 is currently FINLESS?

I have autoed my Swift MANY times and no problem with weathervaning....
I admit the tail fin is small but heck I think the boom provides more vaning than the fin...
