If you're like me, you might think your copy of G3 is broken because you can't update to G3.5 with the RealFlight launcher. But right now it's only available as a beta version :DOH . Simple beta instructions found here: http://www.knifeedge.com/forums/showthread.php?p=62874#post62874 .
I'm in the process of downloading the 239mb update right now :happyd !

You are kidding right? 239mb! I guess I won't be downloading this! I only have dial up. Is there any other way of updating besides the online update? Is there a way my neighbor can download and burn to cd since he has cable modem?

I believe that we'll be posting an update exe when the update goes public. You can either download that update exe, or you can contact Great Planes Software Support (http://www.gpsoftware.com/contacts.htm) to get an update CD.

Fairly large update even on Cable, but well worth the effort. Impressed with new interface (Launcher) & model-flying fields are great. Beta seems to be quite stable as well.
Training segment seems to be a nice addition as well.

the retail upgrade will be around 500mb.. Thats what I heard :glasses2:
I got the update in about 10mins on a slow 3mb connection...

I downloaded and installed the beta 3.5 last night. Some REALLY good features with this upgrade, including the trainers. For a noob like me, I was pretty disappointed that G3 didn't have trainers (as opposed to Reflex) when I first bought it so these little babies will be put to good use.
BTW, a big thanks to c0bra for posting the links to the beta download instructions - worked like a charm.

Anyone using this setup? I am having a hard time setting up a basic model that will work correctly. My channel mapping is all screwed up.
Anyone have a MDL file they can share?
Thanks.

nothing wrong with channel mapping just start flipping switches on the radio and evenually you will find idle up and throttle hold then in the radio go and re assign you swithes that you found to wher you want them, not sure if it will work with less than a 8 chanel radio thoug but i did get it to work with my 9C
