I purchased a S613 Sullivan 6mm Heli Starter Extension and the tip rounded out in just a few starts.... it was embarrassing, I had to put the heli on the ground and stand on the landing gear to remove the starter as it jammed in the starter coupling.:arggg:

I even order 2 more shafts from Sullivan and another one failed....

I noticed that the tip my not be hardened as it is chromed like the shaft.

Anyone else find that this starter tip failed?

I have had the same problem the tip is wearing out quick and getting stuck in the starter coupling. Its ridiculous:arggg: what we pay for this starter extension and this happens.

Are you saying you ordered just the shaft and not the whole assembley and how much did you pay for it i didnt no you could do that.

I ordered the whole starter shaft and oneway, stripped that shaft, then contacted Sullivan, ordered 2 shafts and paid $18.00/shaft plus shipping (part number is S981711613C) and stripped one and have one left.

I could not find any hobby store or online store which stocks just the shaft.

Similar issue here. I stripped 2 shafts by now. Packing one of them today and will ship them back to Sullivan to ask fo a replacement. For the amount of money I would expect a bit better quality.
