I'm kind of lost on how to set up the timer on the 12z as how I had it set up on my 9z. Basically, I want the timer to start when I advance the throttle a bit past idle, then shut off at idle. The manual doesn't explain much, what the different modes are (hysteresis, etc).
I tried setting the on position to a bit past idle, and the off position to idle, but the timer will come on at full stick, then shut off at random points and come on again at random points. Thanks

Use this (as with everything on the 12Z and 14MZ radios, there are several methods to do this):
ALTERNATE: NORM
MODE: LINEAR
TYPE: BOX
NORM
PNT: ON set throttle at max up
PNT: OFF set throttle near idle
Hysteresis type establishes a "gap" in the gimbal travel (between off and on areas) where no action is taken, i.e. a dead-zone.

Chris, what you really need is a timer to time funfly eating opportunities.
DING! Time for a hotdog
DING! Time for a cheeseburger
DING! Time for a sausage

Mongo,
If RCFan's suggestion doesn't work, dont' see why it won't, I'll take your program. But that double meat grilled jalepeno cheeseburger does sound good.

If Mongo gives me the recipe, I'll DEFINITELY do for next year's FF and I promise
the burgers will not be charred carbon.
