Default 7 channel radio required??? Align seems to think so

I'm super keen for the 700 but I've just been reading the specs page on the Align site. It says it requires a 7 channel radio. Is there a reason for this or is this just a typo? Will my DX6i be adequate?
Thanks.

I cant see a reason unless you want to drop a bomb with the 7th channel......oh wait that sounds fun...

I can't imagine you trying to drop a bomb when you can't do autos.

7th channel is required for your governer gain. This tells teh gov. what mode the transmitter is in (ie normal, idle1, idle2) and determines your headspeed in each. You can fly a 90 without a gov, but I wouldn't reccomend it, the motors aren't cheap to replace when you overspped it and blow one up. Channel layout is as follows:

throttle
aileron
elevator
pitch
rudder
gyro gain
governor gain

This is the new "E" thread not nitro.

I think maybe you will need an extra channel in the receiver for an extra power input so the amps can be split between two wires (maybe?)

Perhaps the manual is available for download? That would clear things up.

Im using a Futaba 6EX Tx for all my helis and planned on using this for my 700E. For Rx I use a Futaba 617FS 7ch receiver. Would this suffice for the 7ch recommendation by Align? I see a few people on this thread using 6ch Tx with no problems.
