Hi,

I have a venture 30 with and os max sx .32 on it. I was flying with 550 woodies and the stock trainer paddles with 2 lead weights in each.

I've been getting pretty comfortable with this heli and have been flying more and more aggressivly for the last month since I got it.

This weekend the weather was right and I was feeling great and really comfortable. I banked left about 45 degrees and gave it quite a bit of up cyclic to turn and the motor bogged down quite a bit. (I've had it bog before on turns but never this much) End result, I straightend back up but had lost so much headspeed that the heli began to fall. :arggg:

From there I know the mistake I made was to give it full up trying to get the head to pick up speed rather than hitting the hold and trying to auto down (which I did after it lost about half it's altitude and was only like 30 ft up.)

So, the questions are
1. Why did the turn make it bog down and loose headspeed?
2. Upgrading the motor is out of the question, so will removing the lead weights in the paddles or switching to a 3d flybar setup alltogether lessen the likelyhood of the the motor bogging down?

Thanks,

take your pitch guage and measure total pitch, and measure the total cyclic pitch. Add the two together and you have the reason you bogged down so much.
Without looking, I'll venture that you had a total pitch of 16* or higher.
You have a great combo for learning to finesse a heli, however you cannot bang the sticks or you will experience this again.
This combo should run +/- 10 MAX and 6* cyclic MAX.
Run 30% nitro fuel to get the most out of the engine.

THanks Wayne,

I'm using 15% nitro, but I'll check out the 30%. As for the pitch it was at 10 on pitch but I've never even checked the cyclic or cyclic + pitch. Once I get it put back together I'll check that too before hitting the field. Thanks again!

I just read that the Venture doesn't come with thrust bearings. Will they help any?

this also happins to me.. this may sound easy but it might be somthing simple
what i do is take off my carburator and clean it in metho also change yo glow plug
i only get 5 or 6 tanks out of a plug. i run a little lean to get more power only a little thought ...

My brother has venture 30 same as me he had a crash after failed plug one week after i had cut out in flight i was lucky i was flyin straight and level and hit the hold switch he was banked and low no time to hit anything but the ground

weeked just gone i had no power carbie needed a clean all fixed
hope that helps

Thank you. Sometimes I have a hard time starting the motor and the other day at the field this guy walks up with a $60 ignitor when I was having trouble and it fired right up. I do have a spare plug so I think I'll put that on while it's on the bench.
