View Full Version : 1521 motor need repair. Help

I used this motor with hacker 77 esc on 28 cells nicad hover about 4 flight. Then i switch to Phoenix 85HV and 10s4p lipo. Hover about 50 sec and it loose power. After checking it smell and won't start again. Anyone know what happen and could i send back to the factor for repair?

I sent my 1521/1.5 back to Steve Neu to get it checked out earlier this year. He replaced the bearings and otherwise it checked out ok. I have it back on my Ion and it seems to be working fine.
Go to the www.Neumotors.com Webpages and you will find the USA dealer to send it to. I believe it is Diversity Models in San Diego, it will give you their web address and you can contact them. As long as you keep asking about progress (once a week) it does not seem to take too long (took ~ 1 month to get mine back).
If it ends up costing a lot to repair, it might be a good time to look at an Actro single stage upgrade. Good luck.

It's very hard to tell why it happened based on your brief description. You say that the smell came from the motor so I guess youe esc is ok. Why did you change escs anway? The hacker 77 would have contined to work fine, works for me.
You'll probably need to send the motor back for inspection and Steve Neu should be able to tell you what may have happened.
