Ok after several flights of the same thing i am lost as of what is going on. I have a GV-1 installed on my Knight 50 with a 9254 servo. Now when i click into idle up and switch the governor its fine, but when i start slamming into my negative side of the pitch the engine bogs down BAD. starts to shake and everything. but i was doing flips and nothing had ahppened. It seemed to do it only during tic tocs? the gear ratio is set right anf the GV-1 is brand new.

have you checked the SwCd screen?
perhaps your default V curve is too low and it's shutting off the GV1

i have not checked that but my throttle curve is 70 and above

Is the GV1 set for 1850 or so headspeed?
Is it holding that speed in Idle 1 or 2 when descending fast or inverted flight?
Are you running the OS Hyper 50 and is it broken in?

okaround 185o in idle up one. it bogs down in tic tocs on the toc side(neg side of pitch) and the motor has 6 flighs on it

I would suggest to get the motor running correctly before engaging the GV1. I see the problem all the time where pilots have new motors and try to run them with a governor. Need to tune the motor without the governor and get it running correctly.

just to expand on what David wrote, running a gov w/ a new un-broken-in engine really wont
work well. Actually, most of the time, we see people who think the engine is tuned 'right'
discover that it's actually richer than a governor will tolerate (the Revlock is sensitive to this,
the GV1 less so). You *generally* run the engine leaner on a gov than the non-gov 'listen by ear'
method would indicate.

What Pipe & Ratio
Of course get your engine set right first but 1850 is really slow for a hyper (assuming 8.7 ratio) if that is your ratio then try running it up @ 2K once you get it tuned.

its like 3 or 4 clicks on the rich side. MP2 and 8.73 gear ratio. so if anything try leaning it a bit?

Torkboy -
I would say a gallon would tell you that the engine is probably going to reliably accept the idle settings as well as a good hi needle -
1850 on the Plastic Head Knight 50 is a good 3D setting...

i have metal head so im gonna push it when a gallon goes through it

If you want to run 1850, you should change the ratio. I find the hyper really likes to be pushed up to 17400 -17500

1850 headspeed is approx 16095 on the engine and close to it's rated 1.9 hp envelope.
Running 30% Magnum or Cool Power it seems to perform very well.
What are you running your hyper in? Are you at a different gear combo or higher head speed?

Cool power 30%, nope stock ratio 8.7(kinght) and i bumped it up to 1950
