Hi, I'd like to know if anyone has answers for a couple of Qs. I have about the Revlock 20.
The first one is can you use the stock plastic fan (Raptor 60) with it?
And the other one is, in the instructions states that "if possible you should bolt the fan with the magnet away from the piston" :?: :?: :?:
What does this mean and if it's not too much why???
Thanks,

If the fan has a magnet recess then sure.

If you mount the magnet so that its as stright down while the piston is at TDC it improves balance and removes the need to mount a counter balance.

If its a screw on fan and the magnet position is set then theres not much you can do about it, the collet type after market fans like QuickUK allow you to get the magnet recess exactly where you want it.

Thanks Barracuda,
The fan does not has a recess. Can I drill it? or is it too much of a home brew?

You can drill it just be careful. Mount the sensor first so you know where it needs to go and drill a very small hole straight through, the drill the hole you need for the magnet part way through, the small hole will give the air and excess epoxy a way to escape other wise you get an airbubble in the glue behind the magnet, it also makes it easier to push the magnet out if you upgrade your fan vice trying to dig it out.

VERY SMART :!: :!: :!:
I haven't thought of that one :noteworthy :noteworthy :noteworthy
Thanks one more time (but don't get too happy, I can tell you there will be a lot more coming).

Ask away, I have revlocks in all my birds but one and thats one I bought used and have been too lazy to change it, I've flown both 10s and 20s.

Well I almost put it on before the last flight, but I had heard that it might mask tunning problems so I decided to get the engine at top before that so I went to the field and did that plus corrected the tracking. I almost put my brand new CF blades too but I managed to resist that.
I got it all smooth by myself so I was so happy and proud that I decided to star practicing autos. Well, to make a long story short, I'm waiting for the spares now, so the RevLock wont be in until I get it all tuned up again but I'm getting prepared for when the time comes...
