how many of you guys have used the new glitch counting feature?

I flew my Raptor today with the new firmware and noticed upon landing that glitch reading was 1 and frames was 0.

What exactly is this telling me?

I have not used it, I think I just forgot about it.

What made you check it? (It's not on the standard display, you have to go and change the display to see it right?)

Did you think you had one or have been having some?

I had been having some severe lockouts with the Hacker a few weeks back due to the toasted bearing so now that I've got the new Actro in I'm keeping a close eye on things.

It's easy to see the display just hit the "-" button on the default screen.

BTW the Actro only got as warm as 89° today.

I didn't even know about that...I should really read that manual. I'll have to try that on my next flight, it would be nice to know

I think that a nice firmware mod would be that if there are any glitches that it automatically change to that display so when you land you can know immediately.

Me having to have a tool in hand to check it before I unplug is not likely to happen.

The FMA system has a red led, and if you see it flashing, it is telling you how many glitches it got.

I easily see the ap2000i display as I am unplugging, if it was on the glitch screen automatically, then that would be great. (Angelos, what do you think? :D )

I think… I couldn’t possibly say no to a good idea. Firmware 1.11 and updated user guide now available to download. http://www.spartan-rc.com/products/ap2000i/ap2000i.htm

The Glitch and Flame errors will automatically come up in the rotation (Volt normal, Volt low, Glitch, Frame) when the value is non-zero. If you want to test it simply remove the aileron input cable and the frame errors will start counting.

I already said it in the other thread, but man you're the best!

Your support is why I cannot say enough good things about the ap2000i.

cryofix,

There is a readme file once you expand the update that explains any revision changes.

cryofix,

It's inside the AP-2000i_1v11.zip file. (It was in there when I downloaded it anyway) :)

So... who has upgraded to V1.11? Any feedback?

My suggestion would have been to have the G00 F00 flash on the Home screen regardless if there was a glitch or not.

I guess the current way is if there is a Glitch then it will show at the Home screen. This is a nice feature but when you don't see it (which is a good thing) it sometimes makes you wonder if it is working. :dontknow :dontknow

I have. No issues to report.

In my case, I wonder if in reality I will even see the glitch count.

I think the following is true, someone let me know if I'm wrong.

My Rx is a PCM Rx, so if it see's a glitch, then it will failsafe and the ap2000i will NOT see any difference, and so it won't register the glitch.

Now several people had "glitching" with the ap2000i installed, and that was due to static build up. But I would guess that static was going right into the ap2000, and not through the Rx, as I also believe those that were seeing it were also running PCM Rx's.

Thoughts?

Thanks

I havent yet updated my firmware but one thing I find is many times I unplug the battery right after a flight and it isn't until about 2 seconds later I say "oh sh*t... I forgot to check and see if I had glitches"

Would there be a way to check the previous flight??

also is it normal to have 2 or 3 glitches?? Seems like lately I'm getting them with my Raptors and my Logo

Before I grounded my boom to common to negative ubec it was unflyable. I had the "collective glitch". Scott up dated my firmware and after three flights, 2 that I remembered to check, the glitch count screen hasn't appeared and my gltich's are gone. I think.

I 'm running a PCM rx.

I just got a PCM rx too. How are you guys setting your failsafe throttle & pitch for a lockout on electric AP helis? (mine's a Logo 20)

Aside from a glitch, have any of you had complete lockouts?

I just don't want to have it go down with power and have it keep spinning on the ground spewing parts everywhere and at everyone!!

For electrics, I believe Angelos has always recommended cutting the motor and reducing collective. Obviously, in failsafe with the AP2000i on your heli could potentially fly a long distance causing harm to others.

That's exactly what I was afraid of. I'm wondering if it is better to keep it in the air or get it to descend slowly or ???

Better to lose the heli than hurt someone.
