Best Charger?
I'm looking for a new and better charger than what I have.
I would like something that can charge at least 2 6S Lipos currently as separate packs or in sync for 12S use. Which is the best out right now? I've only found the Duo 3. Does its voltage monitor suffer from calibration issues like some of the other cheap chargers? I currently have a Racers Edge SC2000 which has the 5th cell monitor off by some 0.1 Volts. So it never fully charges that cell to the same voltage as the other cells. Are the Hyperions very good quality chargers? How about support?

I love the Icharger, you can buy (2) 250W chargers for $227 from Hobbyking with the EMS shipping.
http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store...idProduct=6792 I charge my 6S 3300mAh (Each) pack in like 25 minutes at 2C, lot's of features and if you buy 2 you get like 500W in this 2 chargers I use a computer power supply to get the max power and works good and very precise, I love it. |

The iChargers are the best bang for the buck available right now. They offer great features and hold up well. I would recommend buying local though, as if you do have any problems with one, you can get support. Check out progressiverc.com. Good prices and great support.

I saw the iChargers and found them attractive. But they only charge 1 lipo at a time. I would like something like the Duo 3 that can charge 2 at a time as separate or in sync. Are the Hyperions the only ones that do this?

You will not go too far wrong with a Hyperion Duo 3 - they are great chargers. I have the Duo II and it has worked very well. I had a small problem with some JST-XH balance boards and Hyperion (via the shop) replaced them without question.
Very accurate, balances everything perfectly (down to 0.001V) and I generally charge two 6s 3000mAh lipos in between 45 and 50 minutes at 1C. Obviously you can jack the charge rate up a bit to nearly 3C (on this size lipo) if you want to and the lipos can handle it, which would give around 25-30 minute charges I would guess. It also gives useful info like pack internal resistance, which is a good indicator of pack condition. I have seen very few people ever post with problems on Hyperion chargers (do a search) which is more than I can say for many of the cheaper chargers. Colin

I am presently using Icharger 208B and am very happy with it.
It charges and balances very well and they do update firmwares regularly. As for parallel charging I get my cables from progressiverc, David's service is great. He response to emails very promptly. |

I've thinking about getting a good charger (I only have the e-flite one that came with my blade 400)
the i-charger looks tempting but I've been hearing that the quality isn't the best. I live in europe so if I buy one from the US I'll have a hard time getting support if it breaks. Is there a simular charger that's not too expensive? I guess I should say I do have a 400W power supply so don't need a 230V ready charger... |
