Hey guys, need one of you geniuses to tell me how to remove a MA fan from an OS91SZ -- not having much luck.

I have the crank lock, no problem there. I even tried heating the fan up, it did twist a bit at that point. Tried lightly tapping it, no go.

Any suggestions (in short order - I know there is a tool but I kind of need to remove it and ship it off tomorrow).

Thanks for any help ...

MA Makes a fan puller that so far has worked on every fan I have tried many not MA.

It makes the fan pulling a one minute thing, don't mess up your fan without it.

Best 15 dollars you can spend, I have used it on more than just fans.

You need to bridge across the three holes in the top of the fan..
The clutch tool has three holes, one for a bolt and nut, and two to secure the tool to the fan.
You can fabricate one yourself, using a piece of flat metal stock (old wrench handle, metal yardstick, etc.) drill two holes to bolt the metal to the fan, (outside holes) and one longer bolt with nut to bear against the end of the crankshaft.
Tighten the bolt against the crank, and the fan will pop off.

hey thanks guys. I suppose I'm ordering the tool, lol. I was about to ship them with the fans on and just buy new fans til I saw they were $60.00 + whatever for the collets + gv1 magnets and it all started to add up ...

Depending on how hot you heated them to and how hard you tapped, you may be spending the 60+ anyway.

Looking forward to flying with you soon Bill!!

lol, I didn't beat on it after I heated it ... I heated them and tried to "twist" them off..

I look forward to flying with ANYBODY. Birmingham has dried up as far as heli pilots go. I think we may have 2 active in the hobby ;p

I am active. Just I have been going to events nearly every weekend since IRCHA. I enjoy going to events and seeing everyone and flying with them.
The fan puller makes getting the fan off easy.

Man, this tool is DA BOMB BABY! How did I live without it? How many times did I spend hours trying to get a f*cking fan off. Now I can do it in just 5 minutes for only $15.00! MA should sell this tool for $49.95... lol

I ended up buying a gear puller set from harbor freight to get a bloody quick uk fan and collet off the hyper in my Raptor 50, wish I had seen this, looks pretty darn simple.
