Thanks Fabian, looks like some great ideas !!! (BTW, I found your pics)
Thanks for the pics Fabian, I used the same method for carbon boom supports as you, very cheap and they actually look pretty good :)

thanks guys. my other tips:
1) i personalised my decals by scanning the original at 100% and tracing the outlines using Adobe Illustrator. i then created mock CF and printed my designs on sticker sheet which u can find at bookstores and art supply stores. unfortunately my crappy printer made my "CF" look like what you'd find on a golfer's socks. anyway watch this space for my canopy decals coming soon!
2) the CF battery tray (home made, too) is held in place by two 2mm screws and nuts thru the corners of the CF plate and the chassis, just in front of the first bulkhead. superglue along the sides and a 1.5cm length of 4cm wide shrink tube shrunk over the plate and chassis between the front and back lower canopy pins should keep the plate from separating in the event of a controlled hard landing (read: uncontrolled crash). mod was done after the picture was taken, by the way.

Great ideas! I did the same thing for my tail boom supports. They have survived three crashes!
