Hi All,
I am new to Heli's, have been flying planks for about 6 months and have decided to move to Heli's they look at lot more fun and much more challenging. I have a Raptor 50 V2 on the way, hopefully will arrive next week. I have a Raptor 50 V2 on the way, hopefully will arrive next week.

I have been practicing heaps on the simulator (FMS with Raptor), I was just wondering if anyone else has a copy of FMS and have used it with the Raptors downloaded from Raptor Technique, just wanted to know how realistic this simulator is compared to the real thing.
Thanks,
Simon.

at lot more fun and much more challenging.

You got that right.

I download the FMS first before I got the RealFlight. Are you just still using the keyboard with the FMS? I would reccomend something with a controller for a heli flight sim. Unfortunately I have not played with the Raptor on the FMS.

I am using my radio with FMS, it is the X378 Heli version. The "geniuses" at the hobby store sent me after I ordered the the Aircraft version. Kind of prophetic realy, for once they did the right thing.

With G2 how realistic do you find it compared to flying real rc heli's.

I never touched an RC anything until I cranked up my Heli....After being on the Sim for 3 months before I ever put it together and cranked it up..I was flying nose in with no orientation problems....
I does alot for the learning curve and the $$$$.
Definately worth it.

I got the G2 Lite...$130 then I bought the add ons package for $30 that included a Caliber 30 in the addons...I found that at the learning stages...this was pretty dog on close to my Hawk 30.
Lima...if you are thinking about it...The Sim is an awesome investment...Look in the classifieds all over the boards someone is bound to be selling one especially since the Reflex is the new up and coming Sim.

It looks like a good Sim as far I can tell. Thanks for the info BartMan.

Try above he is selling Pre Flight at about US$30 normally 75 (Aus$42) delivered!! WITH a connector cable for your Transmitter.!!

From a brief try it felt very close to my rappy 30 with my Transmitter setup.
Scenery isnt as good as Real Flight but who cares its the flight charactoristics you need, and at about 1/10th the money aint bad :)

Also look at www.archeli.com the Aussie Heli brd :)
