Hi,

I just picked up a second hand but unused Lepton combo that includes a Hacker 30-10XL motor. The last time I flew helicopters I had just progressed to the point that I was flying without training gear. Recent sim time confirms that this is about where my skill level is.

Can I run this motor on 4S batteries for hovering and circuit pratice or will the low head speed cause the ESC to overheat due to running at such a low %. Which ESC seems to be the best at running at a low % without complaining?

I was planning to outfit my Lepton with a 8 turn motor and run 3S-2P batteries and do not mind still going this route if it is the best way.

I am kind of new to electric power, so I have lots of questions. This forum is a wealth of information and is the reason I choose the Lepton.

Thanks

Ray

I just started to build my Lepton last night. I like you I'm still in the hovering stage. I bought a Hyperion H3025-10T, Jazz ESC and a 4s1p lipo pack. I'm hoping this set-up will be OK for a beginner with room to grow as my skills improve.

I'm also flying a Swift and a T-Rex 450 which are both set-up for a beginner.

4S is a good setup and you absolutely can grow with it. For biggner just lower your curves a little to reduce head speed. 2400 would be a good beginer head speed I think.
