Where is a good place to get scale lights, and does anyone actually make a true scale strobe light?

E-mail the guy from the site below. He is really helpful and will configure the lights to whatever you want as far as color, size of the LEDs, etc. The system also acts as a lipo alarm. I had a version 1 on my blade and I really liked it for both functions. I hope this helps.

Edit: I looked around and realized you mean a REAL strobe. Sorry, I'm new to helis.

RK,
Right now, Will at Maxx Light has got some incredible stuff, specifically the landing/taxi lights in addition to both colored and white strobes and navigation lights.

Jack, I haven't visited Joel's site in a bit, however, I know he had some fantastic lighting control stuff, but did not realize he was selling the lights as well.

Also, you might want to touch base with Al Wert out at Starwood Scale in CA as well. I believe Al is selling a superb line of scale aircraft lighting as well.

The one thing I will say is that Will at Maxx Lights sells both a 30mm diameter as well as a 40mm diameter landing/taxi light that he imports from Scandinavia that will litterally blind you....best of I have seen for this application.

Also, a few quick tips on scale lighting, if you will....1.) test as you install...once you get the lights permanently installed, it is tough to get to them in most cases 2.) if possible, use a separate power source (battery, and, I recommend a high mah NiMh battery for long, consistent lighting), from your receiver power supply as scale lighting (even minimal) tends to be a high, current drain. This will add a bit of weight to your project, however it is a solid idea 3.) if you want the capabilit of switching lighting on and off from your transmitter, look at installing one of the several lighting PC boards in your project (available from Starwood, East Coast Scale ( http://www.eastcoastvario.com ), and Helitronix.

Good luck to you on your scale lighting project and drop me a PM if I can be of further assistance.
