OK whats up with this?
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXNKD7&P=7

Who the heck would buy this thing? Does it have anything over the 14mz?

Man $1000 more too!

it's the Euro shape. Same features as a 14. Seems like a total 'bend over' which
is what Futaba is going for on the MZ series w/ their pricing

Different style radio for a higher-class of R/C hobbyist! :noteworthy I guess those that are willing to pay $1000 for a few extra switches and buttons, metal radio case and double-capacity battery. :dontknow Still, it looks pretty cool.

YOur telling me the euro case, which looks like an old Heath Kit project box, costs $1000 more? Give me a break :arggg:

$3000 worth of technology, and they still measure stick movement with POS analog pots!

Futaba realizes there are pilots out there that want to spend $3000 on a radio; and they're not going to be the ones to send them away.

Reminds me of a line from Ron "tater salad" White:

So I asked they guy, perfectly politely, how do you sleep at night you little prick!?

But you know... if you think the women respond to R/C heli modelers now, you should see how they throw themselves at a guy with a transmitter like that!

It`s $2760 here. That`s $520 more than the 14MZ.
If anyone want`s the bigger metal case, why not?
There are some guys around, using one.
It feel`s very nice, but i like my 14MZ too much ;-)

There are people flying around many thousand$ in their RC Jet`s. (Ask me how i know)
At least that expensive Tx normly don`t crash...

 I was thinking the same. They should have thrown in 2.4 Ghz Spectrum or something for a grand more geez!

I could have swear the last issue of Towerhobbies flyer showed a different receiver model number. I thought they have a different receiver to justify the price difference, but I guess not!

But to tell you the truth, when 14MZ first came out, I said "who in their right mind would spend $2200 on a radio?" So I am sure there will be those who will buy one because it's the most expensive, yet have no clue how to even set the clock on it.

I'm sometimes also surprised with the tower annonced prices.
I'm a pround owner of an FX40 after my FC28. I hate those "thumb up" Tx.
And I payed it 2250 Euros that mean 1800 US $
OK for that price I don't have the option cafe machine and for Christ sake when I'm on the field put away phone, fax, internet & mother in law :glasses2:

Not sure what currency conversion you are using but 2250 euro in my book is at the current rate(about 1,25 $ to the euro) = $2812

I think he used the currency conversion from 5 years ago. It really was that exchange rate back then.

Sorry but yesterday I can can buy $ 1.2864 with E 1.00.
That's why you can try to sell some B-777 in Europe

proving my point.

€2250 * 1.2864 = 2894.40 US$

That's the way how you calculate it dude

But I must say with the current rates I like your method better :glasses2:
Too bad the rest of the world will disagree

For $2200 it should be able to connect to gps, set the clock on the radio, fly my heli, back up my motorhome, and make me coffee in the morning... When I was a boy.........

.....you get the point.

Yep, if a custom Bill Vail neck strap bracket is not available, I am out too. ;)

Cool brackets you make in your gallery Bill. I love that kind of custom different stuff, but alas, I stopped using a neck strap when I got my 14MZ.

Hey thanks! We had considered CNCing a batch to sell but like a lot of things, the economics is tough. The things would end up selling for $50.00 by the time we got done. There's also the fact that no one seemed to really see a need :? :) .

It's curious that you stopped using a neck strap with the new radio. Why then? You know, now that I think about it, I don't aways use a neck strap anymore. With the 9Z I never flew without one. Why is that?
