View Full Version : X-Cell 50?
Hi There
I can get a well looked after X-Cell with a OS 50 engine. Now, my question is, was the X-Cell manufactured as a 50 in the past? What is the parts availability?

there was an X-Cell 40 , and a X-Cell Fury 50...... I actually have an old 40 , with a 50 in it ... ..Some of the old 40 parts will need upgrading , but Fury 50 parts are no worries .....
X-cell 40 has narrow frames at the top , wider at the bottom .... Fury 50 has narrow frames from bottom to top ....
Hi Peter
Thanks for this information... the narrow body would you recommend buying

The X-cell 50/60 used the same mechanics. Only difference was tail boom length and motor mount. If it is an XL 50, I would think the model is from the early 90's. MA has not produced the XL 50 kit for since the early 90's.

Notice the plan sheets above have parts labeled for the 50 and parts for the 60.
The only 50 size heli MA has made in the last few years is the Fury 50 which is 120 deg eCCPM model.

Hi Seef ,,, The Fury 50 is a nice model with an OS 50 Hyper motor , its a tad heavy for anything else , for 3D style anyway ..... there was/is 2 versions of the Fury 50 too , a Standard and an Expert ,,, Expert has white main gear ( and constant drive tail ) ; and is preferred , std ver has black main gear ....
All the Furys are nice !!!!
Again
Thanks a stack for this infoDave and Peter. I am just concerned that parts may not readily be available for the early 90's model? Maybe I should wait for the new 50?!
Please advise

Parts are still available for the early 90's Fifty size model. The ST 60 that is still sold and produced uses basically the same parts.

Which heli is better and cheaper to run the Xcell 50 (OS 50) or Electric? I dont have the necessary knowlege to decide. In South Africa we can virtually fly throughout the year. I have a large stand at home to fly at the back of the house and can fly in a Warehouse lunchtimes. Your advice will be appreciated.

you can do a years worth of fuel for a 50 if you crash an electric and destroy a battery ....if you are lucky and get good batterys , and spend millions on chargers, balancers etc ,,,,and dont crash , I'd still think the nitro 50 will be cheaper ...
I'm over electrics , till battery prices drop lots anyway,,,,,,,,,,,,,, :arggg: :arggg: :arggg:
