I'm considering getting the DN Power 3s 2150 Mah 20C lipo, but I'm afraid this is too heavy for this bird. Weight: ~ 168-172 grams
My current setup:
Motor: Himax 2025-4200
ESC: CC 25
Servos: HS-56HB / HS-50 for tail
GY401
Flying pref: hovering, rolls, loops, NO 3D
What would you guys think?

Howdy!
I am using in my bird a "ePower Superpack EP1700HP 3S1P"...
No, I am not associated in any way with www.eflight.ch, but they are somewhat a standard if it comes to reliable high-quality sources within switzerland... ;)
This one fits just perfect into the battery-tray, giving almost perfect CG...
Weight is approximately 129g.
Though that leaves to say:
I have mounted the gyro on the righthand-flank, outer side, just aft of the Servo-tray, and tail-servo is installed as standard underneath the main-gear...
If you put the gyro and its servo aft and under the tailboom, you might get just right with your chosen battery...
Cheers,
Daniel

Those extra couple of grams won't make a big difference in weight, much more in flight time. I'm using Polyquest 1800XP on mine, and i'm considering getting more mAh's.

Hey Guys,
I sell the dn power 15C 2150 packs (as well as the chargers)...so I am biased :p
My customers really like them, and like Blender pilot says: you'll make up for the weight in flight time.
If you would like to try the Dn power packs I will offer free shipping (con. US) to any helifreaks :) Just shoot me a pm

As with the V1, the V2 shogun goes great with the Thunderpower 2100 3s. The TP 2100 fits nicely in the front if you apply the extension tray. The weight of this lipo ballances the heli perfectly. You can get TP2100's now for $70. Thunder power stands by thier products and if anything goes wrong will replace the battery for free. If you damage the battery, they will give you at least half off a replacement if you send the damaged one to them.
I'm in no way affiliated with TP.....just a happy customer.
For the best prices I've found...

I would go with Thunder Power 2100 mAh. I get it from Bishop Power, where international shipping is cheapest. I had one bad TP sent to me once - it was replaced without any questions asked.
