I was wondering if any of you guys and gals would be interested in having an internet voice chat meeting one night in the future, as an open forum for AP/V business talk.
Discussions of pitfalls, gotchas, legal disclaimers, paperwork, billing, and of course equipment. I have alot of unaswered questions and would love to have an opinion from somone that has been there and done that.
I am hoping to find a good time evening or night that we could maximize the amount of people online. "2 heads are better than one"
Normally I am a gung ho jump right in kind of person, however this business requires much attenttion, and preperation and it sorta scares me to know how much I dont know.

I'll be there for sure...I think this laptop has a microphone. Any live chat, video chat or similar should work. Actually it wouldn't be a bad idea to have a free chat somewhere that you could stop by when your bored to see if anyone is in there to talk to. I'll have to look into that, I know I have way more storage and bandwidth than I could use right now.

there are a few option, yahoo voice chat is one and either teamspeak or ventrillo are other options.
yahoo is free and does not need bandwidth, TS and Vent require somone to host a server.

I would like to get the blessing of some of our seasoned veterans on this, to make sure we are asking people in the know questions and not just people like me taking a guess as to what the answer is :glasses2:
Also would you guys be interested in an open forum of questions or a list of questions.
Use of proper names or forum names, it does get confusing with alot of people talking.
I would love to be able to talk to:
N74DV
Dreslism
Tabbytab
Will James
If anyone else has any names they would like to see on the "in the know" list please post em so we can try and con, snag, finagle, or just beat them down and tie a mic to them.
I will also post a Poll later this week to try and coordinate a time and date that will be convenient to most.

another idea, I would think would be really good is a wiki based FAQ area.

I'm attempting to do that with my blog but its still a work in process...maybe I should make a wiki section.

I can ask Will and CLayK if there is any room to toss up a wiki.

I would gladly point my FAQ section to the wiki faq area. I've thought about doing this for awhile, but been so busy, I have no time. I had a volunteer update my faq section. I think this would be preferrable over forum style for true faq. we would need a good editor in charge of it. it could even be a stickied thread that anybody can edit.
I really love the wiki concept for this type of thing. :)

Spoke with ClayK and he said there is a Wiki but has been under attack by script kiddies since its inceptions, he didnt want to release to public unless it was much safer, or at all. I know he said he will talk to Will about it some.
I also run the FAQ over on the Trex 450 forums and it has worked out well so far but sometimes lacks the participation needed. I also lack going over there that much any more casue I find mysellf in this, the main, and the 600 forums more often now.

Only downside of voice chat is nobody who is not in it gets the benefit of what was said. A wicki is good, but you have to stay on top of security, but it is definitely better IMHO than voice chat in the respect that others can see the conversation and learn from it later if it is typed out.
We are definitely interested in helping you guyw with whatever it is you would like. We had a teamspeak server for a while but it is not that good for a lot of people.
Our text flash based chat room is available as well, we can create a separate AP room and set it up to capture the chat if that would work for you guys.

how about wiki with editing access limited to those that are giving permission by the forum admin. it would be bit more work, but by needing permission, that should limit the access.
