Hey all,
I just bought a set of MS 97mm tail blades for my Raptor 50V2 to replace the stock ones. The website claimed that 97mm were recommended for the R50, but they are longer than the stock. Would they be ok? How do I check they wont hit the main rotors in an inverted climb?

If you're not using the titan boom and belt, they are going to it. It's just a matter of when. I've seen it personally 3 times with 95's

Is it worth upgrading the boom or get some shorter tail blades?

Depends on your skill level. If you do tail demanding manuvers, then the larger tail rotor disc will help, if you're flying more "sport" style the stock blades work really well.

I have been pushing new skills and getting a lot better with 3D stuff. I might just put them aside till the next rebuild.

I'd highly recommend using the titan boom in that case. You WILL hit main blades, and you MAY hit the ground if you land at all tail first.

Opps ... I meant put the 97mm tail blades aside till the next rebuild (when I put on the titan boom) I will use the stock ones till then

cool, smart move. Good luck! By the way I've personally seen Bert (Team Raptor) fly some really hard 3d with plastic tailblades on his 90SE. So they don't limit much!
