Actually been considering this myself!!!

What are you using? VBar?

Let me know how this turns out, I'm very interested in knowing.

I went with the RJX head. It was almost a drop in replacement for the standard TT Plastic head.

The only mod I had to make was replacing two of the ball links on the swash plate with Align balls...this was just a matter of reaming out the holes slightly and threading in the Align balls..so easy!

Hi

I was thinking of using the RJX head but will try Gaui and see how it feels..

The FBL unit is the Micro Beast X http://www.beastx.com/
Half price of the V Bar system and it rocks..

I haw tested a friends Aling T 600electric whit the Beast system and it preformed real good

Got 10 flights on it to day whit no problems..

could you post your setup, please ?

cyclic servos ? frequency ?
any heat issue on cyclic servos ?

any feedback with your beastx ?
flying style ? sport ? basic 3d ? hard 3d ?
are you using standard mode of beastx or setup through radio ?

major differences in flight on your MT between flybar and beastx fbl ?

Got:
Hitec HS-65MG on cyclic and frequency 65Hz No problem whit heat.
JR DS3500G on tail.
Scorpion 2221-8 13 pinion, flat 100%throttle in idl2, 5Min flight whit zippy H 2100mAh 35-40C
Radix main blades and K&BDD on tail.

Setting up the Beast whit the menu on it(real easy when i understood the functions) . Not in the radio.

Using the GAUI Head NOT IMPRESSED!!!!
Doing my on head from the Miniīs standard plastic and if it dont work changing to a RJX

Im flying sport but learning 3D.

But so far i am impressed..
Haw don:
Big loops,rolls,tictoc,rainbow,piroflips,funnels and backwards flying.
And i do not haw to compensate for drifting at all....

Feels like flying my Gaui 425 thats setup to be stable as a rock. But the same insane quickness like the Mini had before..

Hope you understand my bad English and that i could give you an ide of how it feels.. :)

thanks.

I would be pleased to know if converting your mini titan plastic head works too.
I could do the same thing for my MT plastic. I also have a G5 flybarless head that I could use if needed.

first I'll try beastx on Protos, and if I like it, I'll convert the MT plastic too, trying to keep its hs65mg servos. that is good news if it works good for mild 3d.

did you place the beastx at top of the tail boom ?

Hi

The plastic head works...
Test howerd it now..
the beast is mounted on top of the boom..

Will test fly properly on Sunday and tell you how it goes..

Cheers,,, :P

Anders, how have you converted your stock plastic head?

From what I've seen of these heads, they all use blade grip arms which are set further out from the grip, and the only reason I can think of them doing that is so that there isn't so much movement from the swash. ie, they've fitted longer arms to dull down the physical amount of movement up/down that the swash gives those arms.

Otherwise, if I stick with it, I'd have been interested in just using the stock metal head.

It went up and came down HARD...

Works like a charm :)

The head rely felt great, I had to adjust the pitch range a little but other then that perfect..

I found this and made the same thing to my Mini head.

http://helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=119045&highlight=flybarless+mini+titan

Beats the Gaui head in all aspects.

A ball on the swash plate dident want me to fly the Mini for a week or so until i can get new parts, it came lose and down the Mini went hard and fast..

Happy flying.... :)

I felt like direct link from swashplate to blade holder would be better (less play and direct servo control to blade pitch). that's what I have on my Protos beastx fbl (maiden yesterday) and the Outrage fbl head too.
what do you think about it ?

almost every landing, my Mini Titans have some shakes when blades slow down. It is no problem in flight, or in landing with a flybar, but does this happen to your MT and how dow the fbl module behave with these shakes ?

I cant rely feel any difference whit or without the direct link to the swash.

I haw no problem whit vibrations on the heli now but whit the gaui head it was terrible, But the Beast had no problem whit it.

What du you think of the beast???

good news about beastx handling landing vibrations on MT !

on my Protos I like the beastx very much. I fly with default setup (sport mode, all pots at default position). the heli is very smooth and I like it (for mild 3d : funnels, inverted, backward, piro flips).

I just lowered a bit gyro gain (to 55% while doc says to start from 70% and try to reach 100%), just because my s9254 was a bit warm after flight. but it is specific to my heli, tail works very good anyway, even in fast backward flights.

it is easier to fly than with a flybar. just place the heli at a beginning of a funnel and that's all, only minor corrections, but fbl unit handles almost everthing. easier to land in little wind, you can fly with low rpm and keep good stability.

that is what I was searching : a fbl unit easy to setup without having to spend hours to fine tune everything. I prefer easy flying !

Nessie,

Which rotor head are you using on the MT - any chance of a piccie (I have Beastx on order :banana:banana )

Thanks,
Mike.

I've ordered a second beastx too for updating my MT plastic.
I will use G5 flybarless head with my existing hs65mg.

http://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=137534

Andersminit says it works with hs65mg, so I'll give it a try.

for this MT fbl, I am not looking for hard 3d machine, my G5 (full stock) or MT SE (kbdd paddles) are already very responsive and powerfull in flybar.

I am just curious of what behaviour it could have (MT fbl), and how much it handles windy days.
