Anyone here successfully used metal tail grips on a century heli (Raven, Hawk, Predator)? I am desperately looking for one, but not sure which parts will work.
Thanks.

Century does not build any metal tail rotor grips because the plastic on the Raven, Falcon, and Predator (the ones with the thrust bearings) work so good with no issues.
To get metal, if you just must have them, you will have to go to another manufacturer and convert the entire tail assembly, hub, bearings, grips and all.

Thanks Steve. That's what I was afraid of. Don't get me wrong. This is purely 'bling' intended. The tail grips work just fine as is... I just want my parts to match (I have the carbon w/ full metal head w/ metal washout on order)

This is a Century Swift prototype. I found it on a different forum.

Maybe try the tail setup off a Knight 50. It seems to be preferred by many.

Does the Knight 50 use metal grips?
I have found the STOCK Raven triple tail rotor (including the GRP grips) to be as good as the one in my old X-Cell Pro!
I know of many who have put it on other brand 60 and 90 helis.

Yes the standard ones are great.
The ones that are in question here are the old metal tail grips.
I have not seen them for some time. The package these came in were the old old header card.
They were out before the P-max even came out. I know a few have put them on the max for bling but they are not a direct BB fit obviously

Is this a trick question???!!
You can use metal tial grips and slider off of any 30 size Hirobo heli. They both use a 5mm tial shaft, so nothing new will be needed.
Go to hhiheli.com and order the $50 blue metal triple bearing tail rotor for a sceadu. It's located in the upgrades section.

You just have to make sure the pitch slider geometry matches the ball width.
That is the key. the yoke should be the same size as the ball distance. a little variance is ok but too much and it will not work right.
Also in some cases the hub stops the slider from giving full pitch to the tail blades but it can usually be grinded back to give a few more deg travel !
For the most part I have used other tail hubs and grips on different helis w/o much trouble.

I used a Kasama Tail assy for a Raptor using slider set, but I had to increase the tail shaft by 5mm to allow for pitch increase.
The picture has the stock tail shaft, I re-fit new shaft last night so I post a picture in my gallery soon. :smokin:

Here is the link for a longer tail shaft, direct fit no sanding ect.
You will have to drill a notch for the grub screw tho.

Had a Q15 kit sitting around that I had already stolen parts from. Tail parts fit and work fine on the Swift. No better than stock however - just bling.

I've used the tail from a TRex 600.
The tail control on my Swift it is perfect now!!!
I've only grinded a new flat spot on the 5mm tail shaft.
I'll post a picture later.
