I tried the High Temp RTV on my new exhaust system. I used it between the pipe and the motor. It was dry for a little while but now its starting to drip. Now I have to find a gasket somewere. Do you guys have any tricks/tips for the silicone method? Like let it dry over night then assemble or dap it on and tighten it up?

I always use the metal gasket, it's a k&s part, or the paper gasket that comes with the TT muffler. I don't like the possibility of little bits of RTV making it back into my engine and contaminating my glow plug (it happens)

I looked for the TT gasket by partnumber at numerous sites and couldnt find anything. Can you give me the links/part numbers for the gaskets you talk about? Thankx

I have them at the hobby store that I manage. If you email John@rc-direct.com and tell him youd like the metal ksj 50 size exhaust gaskets, He'll mail 'em out to you. Otherwise When I get to work I'll pm you the p/n

O will that metal gasket work with a OS .37?

I found out that the same company makes the alluminum gasket for OS .32s which have the same size port as my OS .37 and the TT39. Ill give those a try.

Um I still have a prob. I installed the metal gasket and its still leaking. Im not even running it and there is oil seaping around the gasket. Its just sitting on my dresser.

my hyper 50 to mpII leaks as well. I guess I'm going to try high temp rtv one of these days. It makes a mess, but the engine doesn't overheat, and it has plenty of power, so I'm not too worried.

You guys are obviously no into 3D yet because if you were you would no worry about a little fuel leaking around your muffler. After a series of good hard 3D flights you machine will be so coated with oil the little leak around your muffler will seem insignificant. :D Seriously, the fuel may be coming from somewhere other than you muffler seal such as your front bearing or if you mixture is slightly rich some fuel will be slobbered out of you carb air intake.

I think (more from a practical point of view than heli pilot) that you should find out why is this happen, my first thought is that either the engine or muffler contact surface is not completely flat (hopefully the muffler one since I'll be very reluctant to mess around with the engine).
If so I would try to sand the contact surface (again I'm not sure I would do this with the engine one) with a piece of fine wet sandpaper on top of a thick piece of glass or known flat surface to see if I can even up to improve contact between the two parts.
