Boom!!! Going to have some Outrage 550 spares up for sale soon, when I get the carnage sorted. I'll put a link to the 'for sale' section here in the O550 forum...

Dunno.... Was doing the maiden on it and on the second battery was doing some ff, rolls, loops etc. and came back into a hover. Made some godawful sound and went into the ground. :( Pretty much a rekit to fix it...

Make sure you share the details of the crash and damage so we can try to avoid the problem.
Sorry to hear of the crash... sucks man.

A rekit? Are you sure? I slammed mine in FULL BORE twice now.. and both were under $50. The 550 is a tank. What is damaged? Frames? This was on your first flight? And you are selling it rather than fixing it?

Sounds like he is going to buy another kit to repair and sell left over parts.
Too much money, should be cheaper to buy only the repair parts he needs.

Actually I am going to pull it down and sell off the good parts. I have a Trex 500 and 600 that went in last week trying out some flybarless units as well and I just don't have my heart in it anymore. I actually have very little time to fly and when I am spending all my time fixing it really takes the shine off of it. I think getting out for a while may be best...
Cheers.

Having 3 different helis is like having 3 wives, sometimes fun but most of the time a pain. Stay only with one and cheat occasionally.

No way ! 3 is the perfect number of helis.

I've had 4 machines and it does just feel like work. 3 is enough for me. When i get my 90 my 450 will slowly drift into retirement.

Two is perfect... and both identical.. fly hard because you always have a backup. . And only one pile of parts and one pile of lipos

Holy Crap! Carnage extraordinaire to say the least.... Basically the parts left over are the baseplate, one front frame support (all the rest is trashed) the tail but the shaft is bent, horiz fin and mount, skids (miracle?) all main bearing are trashed. The head is complete, but the spindle is bent, bearings are crunchy, the phase pins are bent, one flybar control rod is bent, most linkages are bent and the ball links are broken or stretched. One of the seesaw links was bent. Both servo trays were destroyed. Motor mount was bent and to make matters worse the pinion grub screw is stripped out so I will have to cut the shaft to get it all apart. Main gear is roached and the pulley snapped at the Jesus bolt mount. The new one way bearing in the hub is pooched too. Not sure why that happened as I bought that brand new to get that stupid 1mm spacer... About half of the frame spacers are bent. Did a bit of a mini taco on the lipo. I'll try a charge on it outside to see what happens. Main blades and tails are toasted.... I think you get the picture....:roll::roll:

You would think so wouldn't you... :( Throttle hold was on just before or microseconds after impact. (It was quick!) No chicken dance... I've never seen carnage like this...

Something must have broken in flight and a good part of the carnage took place before the heli hit the ground. No signs of anything suspect during the ground tests before flight #1? Did the heli do anything strange before you heard that sound and the heli went in?

Oh I know a lot of it happened pre-touchdown. As I said it made a hell of a noise and then went in... Not sure what the cause was and probably never will. Likely something I did in the reassembly.... :( Seemed to be fine on the first pack though....

Capi, no Fusions for you?
DominicD

No. Even getting the 90 is going to push the budget. I am just rounding up a $100k education, i am running on fumes :) Ill get the Fusion 50 and an M3 or 335i when i get my first full time gig.

Similar situation here, Capi. A G5 and an O550 are more than enough for me right now, money-wise and time-wise. ppridday, sorry for hijacking your thread and sorry for the crash.
