Does anyone have a picture of an N5 next to a Trex 700? would love to see it, the N5 looks pretty big.

Thanks for the comparison pictures,
I have spent a lot of time wondering which to get....LE 600 trex or N5.
Your pics have finally convinced me to go the N5.Its a great sized 50, even when you see it compared to the 700...not far off it size wise.
I noticed on your N5 you have changed the skids. This was also an issue for me (the narrowness).....not a big fan of it.Could you tell me which ones they are....Logo 600??
Many thanks

How do you like those skids? I am running the same ones but IMO they are too low and saggy. My vertical fin touches the ground.

good choice. I'm not a N5 flier, but can appreciate it's a quality machine. The TREX600 would be at the end of my list on any 50 heli :P

I am with CoronaL there are two helis at the top of the 50 heap right now and that one is not on the list ;)

Meh. They look good and are wider than the stock gear, but I agree, they do sag in the rear. Mine don't sag that much, but the other day I had a little bit of a rough auto (forgot I was running stick-bangers) and smacked the vertical stabilizer on the runway. No damage, but you could hear the stab hit the asphalt.
I wish there were other options, but I may go back to the stock stuff - I'd rather have a roll-over than a squat/smack....;)

My N5 is all together and man is this thing big. If you showed it to me and asked what I thought, I'd probably guess a 90, other than the blade size of course. This is the biggest 50 I've owned. I love how it looks!

Thre is no comparison, you compare a $565 heli vs $380 ( 600LE )
I would never trade a torque tube heli for a tail belt heli 200 bucks more expensive!! :arggg:

lol I suppose you wouldn't since you don't appreciate quality.
I prefer TT too, but a good belt system can compete, and the quality of a synergy product is light years ahead of that Align 600LE. The N5 would outlfy the 600LE given equal pilots(skill) etc...
But from your past threads in the Outrage section it appears you just like cheap stuff and don't care about how the heli flies. :...:

Yes I know the N5 flies good by Matt Bottos or any sponsored man here but the 600LE flies good too!!
ALIGN helis are not 100% perfect but they have decent prices and parts anywhere.. constant updates.
You are VERY WRONG if you think the cheap stuff is the worst, the clear example are the blue Lipos sometimes better than expensive Lipos.. All them made in China rebadged..
In the other hand if the tail belt version is $565 then the TT version would be close to 800 bucks ?
here you are paying $200 extra for Mr. Bottos, $565 is the price that fanboys are wiling to pay, it's not the Real cost of parts!!
The N5 life will be as short as its old brother N9.. :YeaBaby:
In the range price of 565 bucks you should compare the N5 to the Velocity50, Vibe 50..etc
In the range price under 400 the 600LE is the best... nothing else!

Please,,, like you could tell the difference between a TT and a belt in the air. I would bet money if you flew it without knowing which was on it, you wouldn't know. The belt IMO is a better system. You don't have to worry about stripping out any gears during a tail blade strike on the ground and its a much cheaper system. The TT's are overpriced and break easier. With the TT you get a little better efficiency in the autos, but that is about it.

I highly doubt the TT version would be close to $800 dollars. The parts cost on the N5 are actually pretty damn good. Frames are $25 bucks total for both sides, not $25 bucks a side, but total. I know you can't get an Align frame set for $25 bucks. Align quality is also far from great. There are many problems with Align and one is being QC. I have owned Align and they are ok, but I will never be one of those blind fools who follows Align and thinks their SH%$ doesn't stink.
As for the N5 being short lived, I highly doubt that as well. Now that Botos has taken hold of everything, I believe you will see some great changes, and you have witnessed one with the N5. It is a great flying heli and has a great design to it. The N9 will be redesigned next I'm sure. As for the N5, it flies way better than my buddy's crap Trex 600LE. Sorry, but the 600 doesn't compare to the N5. I have never had a heli track so well on flips, rolls, and FF as this heli does.

lol
you have no idea what makes a good flying heli. Your pocket book and closemindedness rule your world. Have fun flying your Align. They are decent helis. Just not better IMO than other heli's you trash in your posts, for costing more like it's a sin. Team Generic is looking for a cheerleader to hand out Kool-Aid. Sounds like a perfect job for you!

I've owned many Align helis including the 600n and 700n. The quality isn't even close. Just look at the CNC'd parts on the N5 vs the combination of cast/molded/CNC'd stuff on the Align. Come back in 30 or so flights and compare the stock N5 links to the ones on an Align heli. Other than the 700n every Align heli I've flown has tracked like crap and needed constant corrections. The N5 flies and tracks like a flybarless heli. It's that accurate. I'm very picky with what I fly as anyone in my club can attest. I buy and sell helis like a used car dealer. The N5 is the first the heli that I have thought was good enough that I didn't need another. I've been flying for over 6 years and this is the first time I have owned 2 of the same heli. I haven't even gotten around to talking about Matt and his attention to detail. I haven't yet had the honor of meeting Matt but I hope to at IRCHA this year. Everyone I have talked to has said he is one of the true good guys in this hobby. He goes out of his way to help people at events and online. I won't mention names but I have met a few others including one integral with Align and was not impressed.
Matt had the choice very early on to go TT or belt. He has enough experience that I trust his word when he says the belt on the N5 will outfly most torque tubes. Align came out with the TT mainly because people in the U.S. wanted it and the belt system on the Align helis is crap. I recall another top pilot comparing the Align TT to the belt system on the Compass 3D and stating the 3D belt had less drag in the air.
Mikasa, you really showed your Align fanboy side when you listed constant upgrades as a bonus for Align. Sorry to burst your bubble but the only reason they and others are constantly releasing upgrades is because the original parts are crap to begin with. I've been saying for years that I could take a bag of dog sh1t, put the Align name on it and it to people like you for $50. Maybe one day you will have the courage to try a non-Align heli. Only then will you know what you have been missing.

I for one won't buy anymore Align helis! There are way to many other brands out there, that kick Align's ass! I always laugh when I see people compare Align to great quality brands like Mikado, Synergy and so on! I will agree with Gscott, this N5 flies like a FBL heli. Tracks very true! The Quality is amazing as well, I love the metal head and tail.

Well Mikasa...was surprised to see your response relating to cost......I was actually looking at a size comparison of the N5 as I had heard it was a large 50 size. Many people I know were very interested in seeing the difference in size as its a new heli with not many to be seen in the flesh as yet,so curiosity is rampant.
The sole reason I was looking at the LE 600 was due to its popularity at my club...re parts, help etc.not so much a cost issue,
Well I have now seen the N5 in the flesh and I can assure you the quality of this heli is fantastic...much higher than the rex.I for one am happy to pay more for this sort of quality, and the replacement parts look very good price wise in comparison.Nothing is going to wear too easily on this machine..and as far as belt drive tail goes,I am very pleased it is, rather than torque drive...just my preference
I hope you enjoy your T-rex Mikasa,if you get a chance check out the N5,,you may be surprised!!!
... I for one will be catching the Synergy No 5 bus on this one.!!

I'm thinking of adding the N5 to my fleet for many reasons one of which it is belt driven. Kyle Dahl just won XFC with a Logo600 which is belt driven. I cant stand TT, too easy to get a vibration problem and strip gears if you touch the tail down a little hard. I'd take a belt driven tail anyday. If I can bring myself to go back to nitro, the N5 is gonna be it.....Period.

I have both a n9 and n5, i love them both, u reaaly cant compare it to align, the n5 has got to hav the fastest cyclics out there, i got stick banger/ stubs combo on mine, its mental, its quicker than my mates align 3g 600, leaves it for dust, and rolls straight, has a better presence in the air and is just way better if u ask me, ok, £450 quid for the kit (uk) and u get a heli that needs no upgrades, works out the box, and cheap to fix, belt driven, and what???? I was beating mine low and hard the other day, smacked the tail on the floor, quick land to check, carry on flying, oh wait, 600le, ding tail, spend the next half hour changing those gears, checking the mesh, oh wait, align dnt have adjustments there, put back together and fly, hassle if u ask me lmao :D
