Ok, so we have settled on Lake Placid.. Now the questions.

Is this a Heli only field or will it be HELIS only on that particular day (Dec 10th)?

I am guessing there will be at least 20 or so people in attendace so just want to make sure there is ample room to accomodate at least 20-30 people if not more depending on your local turnout.

Let us know.

Also, does anyone have some more specific directions or a Satellite photo?

I have invited the Tampa Gang of about 5...I dunno who will actually go. I'm trying to get Rolando to at least show up.

I have no idea where the field is...or hwy 70, etc....is 70 a state road, county road, what?

Only issue I forsee is if some planker or plankers decide to stay late or show up in the afternoon.

Does the President of the club understand that there is going to be 30 or more pilots that are most likely going to take over the entire field? If he is cool with that than fine but I dont't want to set us up for failure when we all come rolling in and the Pres. says..."I didn't think it would be this many people".

If your the only Heli pilot at the club and you say a "few" guys are coming down to fly..you may be in for a surprise at how many people show up.

I personally invited about 10 people, if they come or not I don't know.

Here is the info I found on the club, although there is no website that I can find.

given that there was no pre arrangements,,,or earler discussion on my part
or any earler notice to
my club pres...
and yes i did mention that there would be about 20 to 30 people showing up
his word was thats great ,,,again my club is an open field ...
if you`ll feel that there will be a problem ...dont hesitate to give
the club pres, a shout
and i did mention that it wasnt a event ,just alot of guys wanting to get together
before the year ended......you never know if you guys like the field ,,,then maybe we can do future gatherings

Avon Park is starting to get real busy with UAVs...I'm going down there this week Tuesday and Thursday to train a couple new pilots.

There's an outfit test flying an autonomous R-22 called the A-160 for the military out there too. Maybe I'll snap a couple pics for the forum here.

Mike,

U need to lay off the JOLT and take a chill pill, I happen to be the President of our club and if rcing talked with his pres I'm quite sure it will all work out, heck the field that Steven belongs to are in awe when he puts on a heli demo for them and he's also the youngest plank INSTRUCTOR that club has ever had.
