View Full Version : What dim should I turn the inside of a old clutch to?

I'm pretty sure my clutch is worn out. what dim should i turn the old clutch lining down to before i put in my new lining? I was gona get a new clutch shoe.

just soak the clutch bell in acetone, or MEK. The liner will seperate and hopefully leave no gooey residue behind.
In the past in a pinch I sanded an old liner out with a dremel and sanding drum, messy and a PITA..
As far as replacing the liner and gluing it, I always used JB Weld, the regular version, not the Qwik.

The standard trick is to just remove the old lining, lightly sand the inside of the bell, then glue the new one in with 30 minute epoxy. Wind 2 layers of duct tape around the new shoe and push it into the bell, holding the lining in place. Leave to dry, and you should have the right distance between them when it's done.
