Just starting down the 10S A123 trail and wonder about using the 109 charger. When I connect up a charged 10S batt it shows 8C and about 33.6 volts. Is it possible to charge these cells with this charger without all of the exotic stuff (lipodapter, etc.). After reading a lot about these A123 batts I think I will skip the balancing part of the equation and just monitor each cell for a while. If possible - what procedures do you use?
Any comments appreciated. Will be using in trex 600. Batts are from Dewalt 36 v pack.
